I lived overseas for a number of years and came back after Covid only to find my go-to pizza spots had all closed. I spent the next three years chasing that real Chicago stuffed-crust fix and kept coming up disappointed.

Then, on my birthday today, I finally found the place that fills the void.

The sauce is robust, the cheese is generous, and the crust is exactly what you want from a quality Chicago stuffed crust pizza. Hands down, it’s the best stuffed crust I’ve had in Illinois in over 10 years, and the price is better than Lou Malnati’s (bland) and Giordano’s (#2 stuffed crust in il IMO, but far away from my location).

Great value for the money, and the people here are genuinely nice. First visit, and now loyal customer now.

I recently visited Antioch Pizza shop-Libertyville location for Lunch and so should You!

Located on Milwaukee ave, just south of Route 176 and across from Condell Hospital, this location offers lunch special for $13 (burger, fries, drink) freshly prepared or a two slices of pizza and a drink for $7, as a weekday special.

Choices of pizza will vary by day, but consult the menu in the website for ideas.

My cheeseburger and fries were freshly prepared and were enjoyable.

Finally, there are ice cream selections available, I did not save room for same, but maybe Next time???

Food was incredible. I used to live in Antioch where I was first introduced to the pizza. Now, I go to this location here in Libertyville because its even better than the original location! Staff was super friendly and accommodating. And the store, being as large as it is, is kept really nice and clean. Really good atmosphere! Definitely planning on returning time and time again

We stopped by Antioch Pizza in Libertyville after visiting a family member at Condell Hospital, looking for a late lunch. It was our first time there, and it turned out to be everything we’d hoped for. They offer several pizza options—including a gluten-free choice for one person in our group—as well as beer and wine selections.

To our surprise, there’s even a small ice cream shop inside! We ordered the two-slice deal, a large pizza, and a gluten-free cheese pizza. The thin crust was excellent—crispy and flavorful.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, John, who was super friendly and welcoming. We didn’t get to try the ice cream this time, but we definitely plan to on our next visit.

Highly recommended if you’re in the Libertyville area—thank you, John, for a great experience!

Absolutely and spectacularly clean. Spotless bathrooms, you can get your own drinks. We wanted a little gnosh after our doctor’s appointments. We noticed that Antioch pizza was open, and have not been there since the ownership had changed from a Giordano’s.

Had a nice conversation with the owner, John (Chandra) Hampson. Let’s compare! Better than Little Caesars, lol, better than Jimmy John’s, better than Papa John’s, better than Pizza Hut, better than Domino’s! I can’t stand a soggy crust. Antioch’s pizza was flavorful, and above, way above, mid-range. There’s a lot of really good pub pizza parlors out there, or you can have a beer and watch the game with some pizza and good friends. But this particular location, has awesome hot dogs and burgers, beef sandwiches, salads, because sometimes you just don’t want to be a carnivore, a salad it’s the spot.

They also have a nicely stocked ice cream bar. Got to have dessert! It’s right across from the hospital, right next to Jonathan Citows neurosurgery facility. Antioch pizza might not be a destination location, but then again, a lot of what’s referred to as destination establishments are subject to a huge letdown when you finally get there. There is no let down at Antioch Pizza! Great job John, we’ll be back! Do yourself a huge favor and check it out, the staff is awesome! And the food is even better. Now this is my take, and everyone has different tastes. But I do pretty well. Besides, John is a professionally trained chef, My great grandparents and grandfather of course, where Sicilian by way of Argentina. And, I am always in the kitchen cooking for people. Just as John does, It really is a passion.

Lastly, some of these negative reviews are a joke. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m never petty when I write a review. I base my review on the food, there’s always circumstances beyond someone’s control. And to base the level of passion and work that goes into an establishment these days on sitting in the parking lot, or, not having a delivery because the routes had changed, which really has nothing to do with ownership, it has to do with GrubHub or Uber.

The level of ignorance concerning these issues, is mind-bogglingly overwhelming.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would—one for each slice I devoured before realizing I forgot to breathe. The pizza is so good it makes me question every life choice that led me to eat anywhere else. The crust? Perfectly crisp. The cheese? Melted happiness. The service? Friendlier than my grandma after she wins at bingo. If you’re not eating here, you’re doing life wrong. Antioch Pizza Shop, you have my heart (and probably my cholesterol levels too)!

I’m so excited to have an Antioch pizza near my work! Antioch pizza is my favorite pizza place! My boss decided to buy us pizza and asked for suggestions. I quickly spoke up and said, “Antioch pizza!” So the order was placed and the anticipation had me drooling! When it arrived we were not disappointed! I was happy I got to introduce some new people to my favorite pizza! I still can’t decide which one is my absolute favorite! Guess I’ll have to order again! If you like great pizza and since you are reading this review, I know you do, give Antioch pizza a try! You won’t be disappointed!

Haven’t tried this location yet so decided to give it a try and holy crap was it a mistake. The pizza tastes absolutely horrible. The ranch tasted really welrd too. I ordered stuffed pepperoni and cheese and they both tasted so bad. This place has gone downhill
