The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the wood-fired pizza.
We ordered the Margherita and the Bianca; both were delicious, featuring a perfectly charred crust and high-quality toppings. The Bianca, in particular, offered a great balance of flavors with the goat cheese and balsamic reduction.
However, the pasta dishes—the Mediterranean and the Ravioli Rosé—were underwhelming. While the ingredients seemed fresh, the overall taste was average and lacked the depth of flavor we have experienced at other Italian restaurants in the Niagara area. For a price point of nearly $30 per plate, we expected a more authentic and impactful flavor profile.
On a positive note, the service was exceptional. Our server, Juliet, was professional, friendly, and very attentive throughout the meal. She truly elevated our dining experience.
Overall, while the service and pizza are top-tier, the pasta did not meet our expectations for the price. We would recommend this spot for a pizza night, but we feel there is room for improvement in their pasta kitchen.
The pasta dishes were satisfying and well prepared, offering classic Italian comfort food.
However, the Italian soda was disappointing. It was described as tasting like root beer, but it did not resemble root beer at all and was not enjoyable. Unfortunately, we would not recommend that drink.
Overall, the food experience was mostly positive, especially the wood-fired pizzas and the open pizza oven concept, but skip the Italian soda.
However, we decided to give it another try, and we’re glad we did. The food was just as amazing, and the service this time was noticeably better. We hope this reflects a permanent improvement.
Overall, we’d recommend giving this spot a try, especially considering how consistently good their cuisine is.
P.S for taller guests: the chairs can feel a bit uncomfortable on the back after a while. Aside from that, everything else is spot on.
You may want to leave the family lexus at home, rent a fiat, get lost a couple of times on the way there for a more full experience. Just a suggestion.
The brick curved vaulted ceiling in the dining room made the acoustics authentic. As if you’re in a family restaurant wine cellar or something.
Home made style antipasti, classic pasta choices, and that amazing thin crust pizza each have that quality/attention to detail which makes the difference.
Next level when compared to big name restaurants in the area.
Bruschetta & Arancini? a must.
Bianca pizza? artwork…
spaghetti pommodoro? spot on, only pro’s get this right.
Our waitress said there’s parking next door for dining in customers up to 3 hours.
You’ll love this place!
We ordered the fettuccine pasta and a pizza—both were absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, hot, and clearly made with care.
The service was excellent: friendly, fast, and very attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Niagara. We’ll definitely be back!
Although I didn’t try it myself, the restaurant is also famous for its wood-fired pizzas. I highly encourage everyone to give them a try next time.
Overall, the food, ambiance, and service made for a fantastic dining experience. Antica Pizzaria is definitely one of the best spots for a family get-together. Highly recommended!
