FIRST time stop here. Don’t be fooled if limited seating available. We had a very little wait and comfortablely seated for table of five for lunch. Counter service for ordering and food brought to table. I had the greek salad and it was perfect, light but very filling. The orange glazed cake was a highlight.
Parking may present a challenge with snow covered roads, but we found a cleared free parking lot only a block away.
Many choices to try on menu so will need to make a return trip.

What a lovely cafe and bakery to stop by! Delicious Greek flavors and options, with a staff that’s super friendly and a high energy space. It gets rlly crowded and popular here for good reason, so def stick it out and tables move fast, worth the wait!
The bread here is just incredible, but the food options are amazing across the board. The roasted eggplant sandwich was the best I ever had, and the hummus was absolutely perfect. The Fredo Cappuccino is a must try, a creamy milk on top that needs to be mixed in, it’s got a nice unique texture.
Overall it’s chaotic and so worth it, one of my favorite cafes around!

Wow, delicious! Authentic Greek food. An amazing menu with dishes crafted as fine food. Truly! I am gluten free due to an intolerance and I didn’t have an ill effects. The place was bumpin’ mid-day Sunday and service was friendly, authentic, fast, and tentative to our needs. Prices were very reasonable and I have absolutely zero complaints. A lovely surprise finding this gem today! I’ve already recommended to my friends and we will be back!

Must try bakery and sandwich shop. Everything fits – from the cool location at the town crossing, excellent design, unique menu, upscale family vibe, and delicious food. Rare to find places where it all works perfectly together. We had the breakfast sandwich with thick cut bacon and avocado – delicious. Also tried the ham and cheese sandwich for lunch – also delicious. Super nice staff going out of their way to make sure it gets done right. Everything feels tailor made with care. Highly recommend.

Arriving on a Saturday late morning, the place was lively but never chaotic. The service was smooth and friendly, even with the morning rush. Our food arrived quickly, and when the espresso machine paused for repairs right after we ordered, the team handled it with such calm efficiency. The coffee was worth every second of waiting, rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced.
The breakfast sandwich was a standout moment. That buttery brioche bun with bacon and avocado created the kind of flavor you remember for days. The avocado toast across the table looked just as delightful, layered on crisp sourdough that had just the right chew. The pumpkin spice Freddo cappuccinos complemented everything beautifully, a perfect blend of cozy spice and smooth espresso.
Before leaving, we picked up pastries to go: almond croissant, ginger molasses cookie, chocolate chip walnut cookie, and baklava. Each one tasted like it came straight from a baker’s dream, especially the almond croissant, easily one of the finest around Pittsburgh.

My husband & I finally checked out Anthos in Castle Shannon. Oh my word – this place is out of this world! Literally, when you come here you forget you’re even in Pittsburgh.
We started off with their Bee Sting – it’s in their pastry window. I don’t even know what it is but it’s a beautiful puff pastry sandwiched with the most amazing creme and toasted almonds. The best part, it’s cold! I never thought I’d find something better than the burnt almond torte, but here it is !!!
We also split their spicy feta dip with homemade pita ~chefs kiss ~ the pita was warm – the feta had so much flavor and wasn’t that spicy!!
I had their French toast and oh my lanta ! The creme, crushed up pistachios, tart cherries – I could go on & on & on
My husband got their croquet – all I gotta say is thank gosh my husband & I always split everything because every single bite was better than the last. The homemade bread with baked crisp cheese crusts on the whole thing – the perfect ratio of egg yolk
We ended up getting their sourdough bread to go and they even sliced it up for us!
Could not recommend this place more! The staff are wonderful and oh so welcoming. Amazing addition to the burgh!

We were visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this little gem of a café. The food is absolutely mouthwatering, the service is top-notch, and the cozy location instantly transported me back to my home in Europe. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and to top it off, they even have fresh bread available for purchase! A must-visit spot if you’re in the area.
