Anthony’s has clearly been our favorite restaurant in Ocean Springs for the past 3 years. We’ve had many family dinners, date nights, weeknight, special occasions, and entertained out of town guests there countless times. Due to schedules and our family budget, we haven’t visited as regularly in the past year. We returned last night and from the moment we arrived until leaving….the differences were so disappointing. It made us sad, but we were glad to see this before going into the holiday season and planning to bring more out of town friends and relatives. The hostess needed training for what is considered a higher price point restaurant…not signaling us to join her from middle of room…the seating and crowding of all tables gathered around same area and leaving the remainder/center of restaurant empty was awkward and exposed having such a small Friday night crowd. The weekend piano player was no longer there, so the ambiance was off and dull. The hostess then removed plates before we sat, and then placed same dishes back on table for me to use after she handled them…always wait until seating to remove anything necessary. That is a training issue. We waited for our server to arrive, and it was obvious that training was again an issue. When our drinks/appetizers finally arrived an hour later with apologies, we quickly noticed the quantity and presentation of food had been overwhelmingly reduced compared to many previous visits. The cost has absolutely increased, the amount of food….while still delicious…has decreased tremendously, and our favorite attentive professional wait staff was no longer there. To sum up our night: Service, ambiance, experience, presentation, wait time, and quantity of food have all decreased. Only pricing has increased. To say this is a HUGE disappointment to see at our Go-To hometown nice restaurant is a given. What once was a bustling date night special restaurant is now priced for special occasions only, which explains the small older demographic of diners who loudly enjoy their cocktails for their “one night out”. The seating is entirely too close and crammed together when it shouldn’t be. Will we go back? Not planning to. Considering we enjoy water views, attentive service, quicker service, tables spaced accordingly, and a dinner out under $100 per person which doesn’t have reduced quantities of food, we will choose Bacchus on the Bayou in Ocean Springs going forward for our family and guests. I am sooooooo incredibly sad to see the changes that have occurred at Anthony’s. I’ve always loved the hidden location, intimacy, and reservation aspect of dining here in addition to the great food, service, and ambiance. But. Having spent the equivalent of our monthly utility bills for dinner, I must say this was a tremendous letdown! Anthony’s had a GREAT thing going, and we definitely miss the “good ole days”.

We have been to Anthony’s a few times now and the food is consistently excellent. We had oyster’s Rockefeller, gumbo, seafood casserole, and keylime pie. It was all delicious. The twice baked potato was seasoned and tasty. The squash casserole was so tasty. The best part is the view. Go at sunset and be prepared for an amazing experience. Our server was absolute perfection.

Anthony’s is cute place, nestled under beautiful big, old, trees and right by the water. This was our first time hear and we were disappointed on how salty the food was. To the point where my husband couldn’t even finish his meal. We ordered a bottle of wine to go with our meal, butvwait time was so long, it was all but gone before we even got our appetizer. We started with the oysters sampler in which you get two of their Rockefeller, cat Island and grilled oysters. We ate them but felt they were all over salted. Hubby ordered the Ribeye steak with shrimp and crab meat. He also ordered a twiced baked potato. He enjoyed everything but his steak. Once again, over salted, in fact he only could eat three or four bites, giving me a bite to see how salty it was. I ordered the Filet Mignon with a baked potato. My Filet was salty as well, but it being thicker I was able cut the seared parts off and eat the middle. Bread and salads came with our meals as well. Everything was presented beautifully and from the looks the steaks were perfectly cooked. We appreciated the Chief not charging us for the Ribeye meal. We also appreciated our server who despite being busy checked on us several times.

This is an older place and honestly it looks like they need to do some heavy scrubbing because it doesn’t look like they really clean this place very well the food was very salty and that’s really not what I like. To be honest I think the ranking is higher than what it really should be according to what I saw because when I got there the ranking I’m giving it is really 3.5 to be honest with you

We ate here for dinner and Anthony’s did not disappoint. The food was great as was the service. We had the oyster sampler as an appetizer and then moved on to the main course – crab cakes Ponchartrain and the seafood casserole (loaded with shrimp, crawfish, and crab meat!). The bread pudding was also good but so rich that I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites.

We noticed the prices online were stale (as of 9/26/2020) so keep that in mind. I don’t recall where we saw the menu but I don’t think it was uploaded by the restaurant. I should have taken a picture but it didn’t occur to me at the time.

The restaurant has a simple and nostalgic ambiance. We arrived at 7:25PM so, although we were seated window side, we missed the sunset. All in all, a great meal.

I made reservations at Anthony’s over several other Ocean Springs restaurants, and I’m extremely pleased with that decision. Everything about it was a great dining experience. The view of the water can’t be beat, the service was above and beyond, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the stuffed flounder and my wife had the filet. They were both cooked to perfection. The squash casserole was the best I’ve ever eaten. I hope to come back in the spring or summer to be able to enjoy the sunset!

Our family of six dined here on a Thursday evening. The location was nice with a view of the water. I had the grouper with the squash casserole on the side. It was wonderful. However it was topped with shrimp in a sauce and the shrimp was not deveined. YUCK!!! My son had the fried catfish which was also good. My other son has pasta noodles with Marinara sauce and cheese. He also enjoyed it. Another member of our party had the stuffed flounder, and it was very good. Two members of our party ordered the seafood casserole. It’s a combination of seafood. There was no crawfish in it. It was mostly shrimp that were NOT deveined again. It was absolutely terrible. What restaurant charges $30 for a dish and serves the shrimp not deveined. It’s was not edible. It also taste like frozen shrimp not fresh gulf shrimp. When we went to pay our bill, there was a 6% service charge on our receipt for using a card. We were not informed at any point that this would be added for using a card. They just did it, and we saw it in the receipt. We would have paid cash had we been told about the service charge for the card.

We picked this place based upon a local’s recommendation. The entire staff was attentive and friendly. Reservations are accepted and the dinning room has pretty views.

Great food. Depending on crowd, food to table can be a bit. They don’t cook until your order is placed, but worth the wait.

Just an overall wonderful place with an all you can eat style meal service. Got the fried chicken and ship and it did not disappoint.

Read another review about the biscuits and jam and this place definitely knows how to do it right. Highly recommended.
