We made reservations (based on recommendations from other reviews) and really enjoyed the delicious food and cozy atmosphere. A very welcome change from the typical packed supper club vibe that tourist season brings.
I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and the tenderloin medallions cooked rare as my main. Both were phenomenal. The tenderloin was fork tender and had so much flavor! Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and some of the best I’ve ever had. The house made olive tapenade was so good that I’d be back for that on its own.
Make a reservation & give it a try if you’re looking for some high quality food in a relaxing environment. We’ll definitely be back.

A very nice evening at Anthony’s Ristorante !
Arrived on time for our reservation (which is highly recommended!) and found plenty of free parking .
Started with a nice cocktail at the bar as our table was being prepared . Very relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant that set the tone for a lovely evening .
Ordered a Veal Piccata , pistachio crusted Salmon and sides of spinach salad . Both dishes came with cauliflower gratin. All the food was well seasoned and very delicious. Cauliflower side was slightly heavy due to cream or cheese , but other wise everything was very good
We will definitely be back !

It is unfortunate that I cannot leave a more positive review because the food was good, however the bad greatly outweighs the good. Firstly, there did not appear to be a single entree under $30 and there was only 6 to pick from that were not $50+ dollar steaks. That being said, I have no problem paying that kind of money for good food and a good experience, unfortunately that is not the case with this establishment. The server was not attentive, we waited 20 minutes for anyone to take our drink order, another 10 minutes to get the drinks (all while the restaurant only had 2 other occupied tables) and the timing just kept getting longer between visits. Secondly, I find it surprising that a meal that is well over $100 comes with plastic plates and paper napkins. The atmosphere of this restaurant is not inviting or welcoming and the service is equally as disappointing. I also must mention it was very apparent because our family came in with two children we were sat in the very back (despite there being open tables in the front) with little to no attention from staff. I was hopeful being that this is a locally owned small business they would take more pride in their service, unfortunately that clearly is not the case.

Food is ok extremely overpriced, Complaint starts here. Stuck in a corner and forgot about. 20 min at table before offered any drink. We felt out of place since some snobby redhead at the bar said “this is what I can’t stand about this place, kids” All while the cook walked around in sleeping pants. 7pm and completely out of steaks….With that said our money must not be good enough so this was a one time stop.

Food was good but not enough to bring me back. Split plate charge was $15 and NOTHING was added to our plate. Our bartender was Kathryn & she was more interested in connecting with “locals” then us, who’ve lived in Lake Tomahawk for several years……. would not recommend this place if you want cold wine, attentive bartender or a welcome atmosphere, especially for the price. Big miss for the Northwoods!!

We enjoyed every bite! Everything was excellently prepared & artfully presented, pricing was reasonable. It’s a small venue so do reserve. Will return & would definitely recommend.
Also, both restrooms were absolutely immaculate & beautifully decorated, felt like home.

We walked into Anthony’s without a reservation. When Katie learned it was a birthday dinner she seated us at the bar and made it a great evening. Mark the bartender was fun and engaging. The for was amazing. This our new favorite in the Northwoods. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Dinner last night at Anthony’s Ristorante was AMAZING!
The Walleye Piccata was soooooooo good. Perfectly prepared – seriously the best Walleye I’ve ever had.
My boyfriend really enjoyed the Seafood Alfredo. Loaded with large shrimp and scallops and nicely balanced Alfredo sauce.
And THE CANNOLI! Must have THE CANNOLI.
The owners, Tony & Katy are warm, personable, friendly and talk about hard workers.
We had such a great experience, we went back later the same night with 2 friends and enjoyed a couple of drinks while they ate at the bar.
My new favorite Minocqua area restaurant!

Lived in the area over 15 years and have never been here. Went in on a random weeknight towards the end of tourist season when there wasn’t too many cars in the lot – early around 5. When we opened the door, you would think we just walked into someone’s private residence. Everyone in the place (including other customers) seemed to have scowled at us. My family waited politely in the foyer for almost a half hour (only three tables had customers) while staff walked right past making eye contact. I was very pregnant at the time and couldn’t wait any longer as I had to use the restroom. Finally my husband spoke up and asked if we could get a table, to which the “server” said they were too busy to serve us as she walked by. Didn’t offer another timeframe. My husband asked another person if I could at least use the restroom as it was quite obvious that I was pregnant and uncomfortable, to which another cold response saying “customers only”. Service is just as important as the food quality at a restaurant. Needless to say, I will not bee trying to eat there again.

Absolutely delicious. Enjoyed meeting the owners Tony & Katy and learning their personal connections to the Northwoods, one could make the case that the historic Milwaukee Road depot that houses Anthony’s Restaurante is the perfect melding between Star Lake and Tomahawk, WI – their respective home towns. Loved the historic, charming, and kitchy atmosphere of the log railway depot. We’ve driven by a hundred times and never taken the time to stop, honestly one of my bigger mistakes as the hospitality at Anthony’s Restaurante was genuine and “home town”, and the food was excellent. Our entrees were delicious; she had the seafood alfredo and I had the Jamison Filet. Both served with icy crisp house salads and cranberry butter for the slices of french bread. This was our first visit and most certainly will not be our last, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and our meals. Thank you Katy and Tony for making us feel so welcome.
