I’ve been going to Anthony’s for years. I ordered tonight and found out that the owners sold the business (congrats to them!) and was hoping not too much had changed. Unfortunately that was not the case. I paid $20.35 for a steak tip salad and what I got pales on comparison to how it used to be. I got my salad without onions and olives. Usually there are thick cuts of cucumber and a ton of shredded carrots but this salad had paper thin cucumbers and a few pieces of shaved carrots (maybe 10 total?). The WORST part by far was the steak tips. The STEAKTIP salad came with 4 very pathetic steak tips. Very sad to see one of my favorite local restaurants go so downhill after barely a month of new ownership. If anybody knows a good place that doesn’t jack up their prices and skimp out on quality please let me know.

Anthony’s is a nice small pizza shop with a nice staff. I ordered a small pizza for takeout and got the house special which consist of onions, green peppers, pepperoni and extra cheese. I ordered at the register and the pizza was ready within 10 minutes. It was a bit greasy but overall I have no complaints with the taste and flavors of the pizza. I’d get it again.

My work ordered pizza from Anthony’s (the Reading location) which was SO good! Looked amazing, tasted great the crust was thick and doughy and really great all around. So much so that I decided to order some for my husband and I on my way home. The Tewksbury location was the closest one to us so I ordered two pizzas for pickup from that location. Same “Anthony’s”, different location. Very disappointing!!! The pizza was nothing like the ones my work had gotten. They were extremely thin, very sloppy, the crust was almost like gas station pizza……just really disappointing all around 🙁 Which really sucks cause we spent almost $50 on them! Big let down….

So we ordered delivery through DD and everything was delicious. I had the Caprese Chicken sub and it was spectacular. We ordered Roast beef three way egg rolls which were also phenomenal. They would have been even better if they had the James River BBQ sauce but they didn’t include it with the rolls. Another appetizer was the Broccoli bites and again they were excellent. Our DD forgot the Air Cinnamon bites and since I was charged the 9.99 I called the restaurant and they apologized and sent me a 15.00 gift card. So they get an A+ all around including with their customer service.

Tried this place for the first time in a long time. We ordered 2 Gambino’s and a small onion ring. The portion size of the onion ring was very small. The steak and cheese Gambino’s were a big disappointment. We asked for the seeded rolls to be toasted. What we got was a soft saugy roll. The meat was okay seemed they seem to be covering the flavor of the beef and onions with BBQ sauce. It was oddly sweet. For the 2 sandwiches, small onion ring and 2 waters it was $50. Very pricey for not so great food. First and last time I visit this place.

Really sad about Anthony’s. After the new ownership change, their customer service and food went down hill. They no longer accept loyalty points from the previous owner but won’t tell you that. They just say the system is down and will be back in a week (which they’ve been saying for almost 3 months.) the food is inconsistent and not worth what they charge. It used to be a staple for Tewksbury, but not anymore.

I’ve been wanting to try the Don sandwich for months, mostly because it has the eggplant. The eggplant was soooooo thin, could not taste it at all, it was only batter. And the balsamic vinegar overpowered everything else. I also ordered a small pizza which I was very pleased with, and wings. Five wings for $8, I thought for sure they would give you the whole wing. But Nope, it was five half wings, $1.60 for a half chicken wing. Very tasty, but Nooooope, never again.

I never post bad reviews and I have had Anthony’s one other time and it was fantastic. I unfortunately got home after picking my food up and as I was biting into the chicken I noticed it was completely raw. I ended up having to take the chicken out and cook it through the rest of the way myself. The overall box was pretty good, but I spent $20 on a meal I had to cook myself. I know they were getting close to closing, but it is really important to make sure the meat is all the way cooked through. I had only taken one bite but if I didn’t check, I could have gotten food poisoning.

I always tell anyone who wants to order delivery from here that the food is really good but the service is not. I recommend that they only order if they are very flexible on time and not super hungry as I have never had a delivery that showed up by the time it said it would.
I took that into consideration today and ordered on-line, early. Got an email that I should expect it in about 30 minutes. I knew that wouldn’t be the case, however, an hour after I placed the order, I called and was told it would be there any minute. . . 15 minutes after that, I still didn’t have my food. Called again and he said 10 more minutes. The person who answered the phone said it was because the “old owners” weren’t paying attention so they didn’t have enough employees and that by January, it should be fine….
When the order finally arrived, over an hour after I placed it, the wrong soda was delivered and the onion rings literally felt like they were just taken out of the refrigerator.
I will not be ordering from Anthony’s in Tewksbury again.

I just picked up an O.R.G. beef from Anthony’s and it was incredible. I placed an order online, but they waited until I got there to heat the beef and make sure it was fresh. The beef was perfect, nice and pink in the middle. The crunch of the fried pickles together with the kick from the jalapeños really elevated this beef to new heights! I will definitely be back.
