Some bakeries are able to produce some of the best breads you’re able to sink your teeth into, and Anthony & Sons doesn’t disappoint. As they say, the bread makes the sandwich! I know, I’ve been in the bakery equipment business for over 45 years so I know a thing or two about bread. Love all their bread products.

We picked up a variety of fresh bread and it was all amazing. Small retail section has a counter with prepared foods as well. Thin sliced breaded eggplant was delicious. Specialty items are pricey but high quality.

The dinner rolls are assorted and baked fresh. My daughter said it was tastier than it smelled. And it smelled up the whole car with sweet bread aroma.
We got some pastries the cherry cheese danish and lobster rolls. They are so tasty!

I give the food 4 stars because I’ve been obsessed with their salads for years and I used to work closer to this location before. The company I work for usually considers them for catering as well, but it all honesty, this specific location left a sour taste in my mouth. I do not comprehend the idea of automatically being rude to a customer when unprovoked. I wanted to make my life easier by placing an order online for the first time ( I usually call) and of course they ran out of Caesar dressing. The employee tried to call me but I did not get the call in time. Long story longer the employee there (not Phill the manager) treated me so poorly, even gave me an attitude when I said I did not want to change the dressing to ranch. I have placed the order for two salads via direct website not realizing a third party company (slice) was the one involved. I had to go into a live chat to try to get a reimbursement since the restaurant couldn’t, I got so frustrated out of disbelief that I was getting treated so poorly, I started to cry. I felt like a burden. In the many times I’ve gone there to pick up, not once before I’ve gotten treated so badly. I grew up with an Italian American uncle, I know what it’s like to think they’re being rude or loud but this was different, this felt unprofessional and disrespectful, and not once I got an apology. I finally got the live chat rep to get ahold of Phill via phone call and I now need to wait 24-48 hours for a refund. Phill did try to make it up to me by trying to give me a free salad but once you feel so little as a customer, your appetite leaves and I could not bare the idea of consuming the restaurant’s food. I just hope that they train that guy to do a better job and understand that one bad interaction is all it takes for a company / customer to never return.

The best Italian deli/cafe in NJ. Great breads and their eggplant parmigiana is the best I’ve had anywhere. The jarred New Jersey Gravy is wonderful.
Everything here is top notch! The prepared foods, pizza, pastas,cheeses, etc. are all excellent.

This place is incredible! Homemade Italian goods everything from salads to the famous fresh baked bread. I’ve eaten that at so many bakeries in New Jersey and this one is my absolute favorite.
A true family business that does not rip you off, I got three loaves of bread and a bread bowl for about six dollars! What a steal! Every other place has been totally ripping me off and I had no clue! I literally come here for any and all of my bread needs, if I need something sliced for sandwhices or if I’m doing a dinner party for friends this bread is the absolute best!

I order a tray of chicken francais for pick up. It was ready and hot. The bad problem was that 1/3 of the pieces were uncooked. They were pink and 2 pieces were bloody. I had to throw away some of it. It didn’t look appetizing. Soaked in a thick butter sauce.

5/8/21 update: #3 sandwich, really good & another olive focaccia for the ride into work.
Stopped in for the first time. Got a chicken sandwich and focaccia.
Both were very good. Friendly staff and great selection of food.
I’ve had cookies and octopus from here that friends have shared with me.
Looking forward to stopping in for more food to go. Easy off and on from I-80.

I was SO impressed, from the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and employees!
The Italian Eggroll literally changed my life
The Owner, Joe is SO sweet! He made me feel so welcomed and told me how his Grandfather was as Mr. Anthony himself.

You just feel like family here, and you wanna stay!
