As we seated ourselves at a table (no other customers), we were asked if we wanted water or green tea.
My friend went with water and ordered vegetarian fried spring roll, grilled chicken vermicelli bowl. I went with green tea, fresh rice rolls with shrimp and Pho Ga (only one size for 12.95 with options to add extra noodles/chicken at an extra cost).
Food-wise, it was great. I must add though that they did not serve a couple of condiments that are usually served with these dishes. For e.g., Vietnamese restaurants usually serve/offer hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, and chilli paste at every table. This was missing here. Additionally, fresh rolls are usually served with peanut sauce. Here, only a fish sauce base was served with the rolls and vermicelli chicken bowl. With Pho, usually, one also gets sprouts, fresh chilli, and basil – this was missing here. We asked for Sriracha later and that was made available.
That said, the service was warm. We enjoyed our time there.
Delightful family business. Everything screamed “Wholesome”.
After ordering some items, I asked for one more, my eyes always being too big for my stomach. The fellow taking my order assertively cautioned “too much food for you”…I took his advice and was thankful!
First up was the May Deli.
Nice spot. Very clean.
Loved the door sensor welcoming.
Service was great.
The tuna and shrimp tempura poke bowl hit the spot.
Worth checking out if you haven’t before.
I was getting a bit over all the lobster rolls/burger and chips, so decided to come here – a little away from the tourist crowds along the waterfront and Queen St.
The Chicken Pho/Chicken Noodle Soup was delicious, as were the Fried Vegetarian Spring Rolls and the Icecream with puréed avocado (definitely worth trying if you haven’t had it before). Also very affordable!
Absolutely worth trying whilst in Charlottetown.
