The food and drinks here make ABE by far our favorite brunch spot!
The location is quite aways from the interstate, but it was worth it. We got there right at 11am and there was no wait, but by the time we left, it was packed.
The only complaint I might make is the location of the restrooms near the front of the space. When it’s busy, people are milling around in the hallway to the restrooms so you have to fight to get to them and fight to get out. “Excuse me, excuse me,” gets old when you’re just wanting to pee. It’s not a football stadium. It’s a nice restaurant with high-ish prices. Give me some space when I want to go to a quiet restroom.
Other than that it’s a nice place.
From the very beginning, it seemed as though the front of house had ZERO desire to work or even be present. I could barely understand or hear them speak.
The waitress seemed promising. However, as time went by, her personality became waning. I’m sorry she had to get hot sauce when the bottle was empty, or that we had to go get our own sugar from the bar because guess what? The table had no sugar. Oh, they also had to run and get some extras, creamer, napkins, refill coffee once… things that are a part of a normal dining experience.
The food… out of the four meals that were ordered, only one met the expectations. The fried chicken salad was missing the hard boiled egg and bacon bits, and the red onion was not pickled but normal sliced red onion. The Brussels and corn beef hash? There were a total of THREE whole Brussels, and everything was just hot, nothing roasted beyond being warmed and cooked. And the fried chicken and waffles? You could get more chicken for the $15 price tag at McDonald’s than here and would likely be more crispy breading.
Ordered two alcoholic drinks and two coffees. For a total price of ~$100, which is broken down to 25 per person, not bad for the VOLUME of food. But the quality of service and food expectation was very poor.
I do not see myself ever coming back to this location, nor recommending anyone to go.
The food was perfectly cooked and delicious.
I will be coming back!
