Went inside and was immediately seated and provided menus, it was around 19:00 and the restaurant was very quiet with only another family seated away from us. Upon sitting down we were hearing the constant sound of deliveroo orders being made (since this restaurant apparently does delivery) which broke the silence very frequently. We were giving popadoms and sauces during our >30 minute wait for starters and another 40 minutes for mains. It’s understandable though, they clearly put effort into their food.
However, calamari rings felt too doughy and there was hardly any squid in them, they also tasted frozen. Steamed rice felt stale too. It’s a decent local place.

Had an incredible experience at the best Indian restaurant in Bognor Regis! The food was absolutely delightful, and the flavors were exceptional. To be honest after moving to felpham we were told your food was delicious but only did takeaway! We have ordered a few times now and food has been perfect and arrives in good time, hot and delicious every time. Tonight me and my partner wanted to dine out, but believing you were takeaway only went elsewhere and it wasnt a patch on your food. I have just seen online that actually you do have dine in ♂️ I wish id have checked myself sooner, however on a plus now Knowing now you do have dine in I know where we will be coming next time, and I will also inform the person who recommended you to me to. 2nd Update 27/08/2025
Phoned to place an order for 2 meals and my complimentary meal from my complaint as mentioned below. The gentleman I spoke to asked me to phone back in 5 minutes after he had spoken to the owner Lal as he was not there – I personally believe he should have rang me back instead of me having to ring again but that’s my opinion.
Unfortunately as I had to phone to advise of the complimentary meal, it did mean that we were unable to use the discount code as usual via the web and therefore missed out on saving just under £8 – a nice touch for a complaining customer would be to offer this discount as a kind gesture.
The food took 45 minutes to arrive, however we were unfortunately missing one of the main dishes and therefore I had to ring and advise them of this. The missing dish was sent out to us and received within 15 minutes so in total this took 1 hour to receive the order.
Unfortunately upon dishing up, I found a small hair stuck in one of the onion bhajis (see photo).
Apart from the hair, the food was tasty and good portions.
Lal, I appreciate your kind gesture of this complimentary meal and the korma was definitely an improvement from my last review, however I feel the standards of Anokha are unfortunately dropping and we may have to look elsewhere for our Indian takeaway.
Due to the issues faced I have amended my food rating from 2 star to 3 star, my service rating from 5 star to 3 star, and I leave my atmosphere rating as 5.
My overall rating remains as 2 star.

1st Update: After posting this review I have received a phone call from the owner wishing to remedy the issues I faced. I have been offered a complimentary meal for another day. Its greatly appreciated for a restaurant to want to keep their customers and fix any problems. I will have no issues in amending this review to reflect the quality of food once I have the complimentary meal.
Regularly order from Anokha for delivery and was looking forward to my takeaway this evening, however very disappointed this time to get such a small amount of chicken (small chunks too) in the gallon of sauce. The photo I have included shows the chicken taking up probably one fifth of a normal size dinner plate. Also had a gristly bit of chicken. This is not usual Anokha standards so unsure why quality and quantity has dropped. I hope this is not a progressive downfall as I would hate to have to find a replacement Indian takeaway.

Had an absolute amazing experience at this restaurant, fantastic food, catered to all the members within my party, the host “Mahbub” explained some of their house specials, I had the Tamil Raj which had a tangy Bhuna sauce Madras Hot, they kindly reduce the hotness when I asked to suit my taste. We also were presented with a complementary starter being a Sag Roll, wow its shouldn’t be missed. This resturant definitely rates top of my list, although please note that if you like an alcohol beverage you do need to take your own, they supply the openers and glasses etc. Beware the portion sizes are extremely generous.

I went in the restaurant with my friends for a get together , we have been welcomed warmly by the waiters . we had the best Indian curries in bognor area along with service was mind blowing . If you are looking for authentic Indian curries , do not think about other options but visiting there. on top of that, they put 20% off on our bill , therefore if you visit at the restaurant you may get as well. Highly recommended.

I have ordered food from Anokha, Bognor Regis twice through deliveroo app and both the times the food was delayed by 1 hour after the estimated arrival and there is no tracking allowed as well. Even when I called and asked, they were in eager to cut the call, though they said that a 20% discount would be given to you next time, which was already an offer if you order anything above 10 pounds. Not a good service experience.

Amazing food, best in Bognor area. We drive 20 mins to eat here and pass loads of other places. You won’t be disappointed. The chicken tikka cheese nan is huge . Bring your own drink!!

This is the best Indian I have ever seen with food and service. The waiters were very welcoming and amicable along with food was outstanding service was top notch. I can’t recommend any more. We will must visit again and highly recommended for authentic Indian food lovers.
