It might sound a bit confusing at first, but trust me, *READ UNTIL THE END* because it’s worth it. You basically have to ask to be helped, because even at the counter there was no one there to take our order at first. The menu isn’t very clear, so we asked for help and it was still a bit confusing, but we got the idea.
Both times I’ve been there, I ordered the same thing: Red Beef Stew with Egusi and Fufu. The last time, they brought me chicken instead, which honestly turned out to be even better. My partner also got something slightly different from what he ordered, probably because we didn’t fully understand each other when ordering.
But honestly, that doesn’t matter. I’d still go back a thousand more times. I’m Mexican and I love flavorful food, and this place really delivers. Just thinking about the food makes me crave it again. I had never tried African food before, and I completely fell in love with it.
Extra points because they gave us some little fried breads (I forgot the name) after we ordered, which was such a nice surprise.
Yes, the wait can be long and the service could be more attentive, but the homemade taste makes it totally worth it. Definitely recommended.

This was not what I expected from a restaurant. Boxes of supplies for sale are stacked up all around. Service was kind of shady & slow. I ordered an appetizer and didn’t get it until paying to leave after we ate. Neither did we get everything that was supposed to be with the appetizer. We ordered the sampler that comes with 6 pieces total and we left with 3 pieces: 2 – beef and a pie. Missing were the MoinMoin, and 2 – chicken. Our food was served in to-go containers even though we were dining in. Weird! The goat and Jollof rice was good but the beef was not. Get your bottle or can drink from the cooler. It’s too bad our service, food, or experience was not memorable enough to make it worthwhile visiting again. Also prices on the menu are not what you pay at the register. So if you are on a budget, beware! They pull a nice little bait and switch on you!

The overall experience here was terrible. Upon arriving it took ten minutes to be greeted. The woman in the register was with a customer. Not once did she say hello or said she would be right with us. So mean while my family and I decided to look around at the items being sold there (we waited because my family and I really wanted to try their food, after reading the good reviews). A young lady came out from the back with food for one table and we expected to be seated or at this point anything! We finally decided to sit down and look for the menu online. We ordered six different dishes. Keep in mind the prices in the menus are not the current prices they charge towards the end and they do not discourse that. They also have a sign saying to be patient with our order due to it being done from scratch. Well, people kept coming in to eat and they were seated and served their food between 15-20 min. Our food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive! We sat there the whole time. They came out once saying your food is almost done. We thought about leaving but honestly it was a lot of food that was being made so we stayed. Finally when the food came.. it was even more disappointing. The chicken was old, did not taste good at all. It looked like it had been reheated multiple times, the fish had a foul smell, the goat was very tough and the taste overall was not pleasant, the rice in all dishes was instant rice just reasoned different. The fufu was not brought with a side dish of water how everyone else had been. Upon leaving we ended paying more because the prices on the menus were not updated said the old man who was at the register. I will not go there again. Food not worth the wait, more money, and they don’t value their customers. You will be in the restaurant literally all alone because they are all in the back. I’d like to add that, I brought the food home to feed it to my dog so it wouldn’t go to waste and he didn’t even eat it! That’s how bad the food was.

I’ve come here 2 times and I can’t wait to go again. The food is really delicious and the owners are so nice. They even gave us some free chin chin with our orders (we finished it in a day, it was SO good). Service is very accommodating, they made to-go orders last minute before closing. Prices are very fair. If I could come every day, I definitely would!! 10/10. P.S. Try the okro stew with ox tail.

Quaint restaurant, very chill and homey vibe. The staff is very friendly and when asked for their advice on how to order they were super helpful! There is a bell yall need to ring to be serviced which makes it easy as there seemed to be only a few employees. We got complimentary bread before our meal which was very sweet and soft, a little chewy- which I really liked! We got the chicken egusi with fufu and it was soooo delicious! The chicken egusi was similar to pollo en salsa rojo and the fufu would be similar to mashed potatoes but with a slightly thicker consistency. I highly recommend coming here as you get to try a new a flavorful cuisine with amazing textures, tastes and smells while having it also feel very familiar. Also the portions are really nice, and they have a shop that sells cute waist beads!

Upon arrival we realized that it was a grocery store/restaurant.
It took a long time to get service, we were not sure if we could order at the table or if we needed to order at the front.
A gentleman came and took our order. The food was very good.
Service not great because of the wait time, but I loved my order.
I had jallof rice with goat meat and spinach.

Today I tried fufu, Egusi, and jerk chicken for the first time. The waiter was a little shy, but took our order and explained the menu. The food was made fresh and didn’t take long. The experience was great, the food was amazing and I would recommend this restaurant.

We came to the restaurant after being warned it was too slow for lunch time. We should’ve heeded that warning. We were the only people in the restaurant and the wait for food would have you thinking they had to catch and kill and defeather the chicken just to make your meal. The waiter did not know the menu and was unbelievably unenthusiastic about doing ANYTHING. I almost got up and got my own bottled drink out of the to go refrigerator. The food you got plenty of but was mediocre at best and averagely priced. They also brought out the deep fried yet cold plantain like appetizers (complimentary- 1 per person) that kind of ruined your palette with the after taste as you waited 40-45 for your food. Probably wont go back.
