I finally tried this gem tonight, and it was excellent. I ordered larb, and it was just as I remembered from my last trip to Thailand 2-1/2 years ago. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp was also excellent. I will be back many times before I go back to Thailand in October. Maybe I can build my tolerance to the spices! Ann and her staff are very nice and the service was great.

Thank you for the nice chat, Ann! See you again soon.

Been dying to try this place and now that I have twice here’s my review.

Pros!
– Ingredients were VERY fresh.
– Can tell they cook everything fresh to order!
– Everything I tried tasted wonderful.
– I could drink the plum and peanut sauce. Very good and authentic.

Cons..
– I didn’t have the best service. Kind of seemed like I was a burden to deal with even though they weren’t busy. I walked in around lunch time and asked for a to-go menu, then called in my order. The interaction was cold and unwelcoming and I didn’t feel comfortable to ask questions so I ordered basics I knew I would like.
– Confusion with the portion size. I ordered once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch is the way better deal. I ordered the same thing both times (one lunch special, one regular dinner size) and honestly there was barely a difference in the amount of curry I received. Lunch comes as a pint dinner is in a quart but the quart was about halfway full even though I added ingredients. Lunch comes with a spring roll, soup, salad, and white rice. Dinner comes with white rice but the rice box wasn’t full either.

Pros definitely outweigh the cons. You get what you pay for and everything so far has been worth the price. I’m excited to continue trying menu items and dining in!

(Photos are pork jerky, spring rolls, lunch red curry, chicken satay)

Waiteress whispered for us to sit anywhere from across the room. A very unique skill to be able to whisper across the room yet still barely be audible.

45min for a plate to arrive , 5minfor the next
Both were a little bland.

The best part was hearing a waiter telling Another customer that 45min wait is not that bad and that “some people wait over an hour,” like it’s a consolation prize.

There was a moment where I stopped eating because the beer and cookies I had at home seemed like a better option than eating what was in front of me.

I should have followed the other patron who got up, asked for a refund and left (he also waited over 45 minutes with no food) but at that point but we genuinely just felt bad, paid and left.

I wish I wasn’t exaggerating. Was excited. Do better.

We LOVE Ann’s Thai Kitchen. We have eaten there three times in the past month or so. All three times the food was amazing. Probably the best Thai food in our area, including Wilmington. It’s hot and fresh when it comes to the table. They use high quality fresh ingredients. The restaurant is in what seems to be a very old restaurant building. It is very quaint and very modestly decorated. Very clean and cozy.
If you’re looking for a quick Get and Go experience, you will not get it at Ann’s. They basically serve one maybe two plates at a time no matter how many are at your table or how busy it is. So be prepared to wait and enjoy conversation with your family and friends. Pack your patience and relax. I promise the Food will be worth the wait. We have had drunk man noodles, several curry dishes And their mango with sticky rice is Fantastic! Their chicken and rice soup that comes out just prior to your meal set the tone for what you’re about to experience.
If Ann herself brings out your meal, be prepared for a wonderful friendly interaction. She is a delightful little Lady. We love her.
There is an older man in there that I assume may be Ann’s husband. He’s either sitting at a table or on the couch watching and listening to videos on his phone when he’s not in the kitchen. He is not very personable actually sort of Grumpy. Acts like he doesn’t really even want to be there. He could do so much more to help with the smooth operation of the dining room if he just put forth a little effort. The young man that is their Waiter / Server is probably one of the least Happy people I believe I’ve ever encountered especially in a service industry position. He’s not friendly At All. As a customer, you are on a need to know basis – meaning, if there’s something you need to know you better ask – he is not going to volunteer any information at all. He doesn’t make you aware of any kind of options or choices that are available. When you ask him about the spice level, he just says “I don’t know because I don’t like spice.” He’s just gonna take your order write it down and disappear until your food is ready. He is not attentive to refilling your Beverages, He never asks how your food is or If there is anything else that he can do for you. Basically he’s Just Rude.
We will continue to support Ms Ann because the food is just that good. We are gonna treat it like we are going too a dinner and a show. You get a wonderful meal prepared by a delightful chef, but you’re served by someone that has stepped out of a Seinfeld episode.

Food is amazing. Spicy basil fried rice with chicken. Appetizer combo is my go to. Never disappointed. Waiters/servers leave a lot to be desired. Very rude, act like they are being disturbed/irritated. Good luck getting them to answer for a carry out order. Food is a 5 star no doubt. Service is without a doubt a 2 and that’s being generous!

The place was quaint service was prompt. I tried the spicy cat fish on rice with red curry, I have never had Thai before but wanted to try curry. The fish was good but I did not like the curry I think it’s a preference thing and not the fact that It wasn’t good. I also got the Pad Thai to go to try it later that day and it was good.

Ann’s Thai Kitchen is a delightful spot for authentic Thai cuisine. The Shrimp Pad Thai was flavorful, with perfectly cooked shrimp and a balanced sauce. The mango sticky rice was a creamy, sweet finish. Friendly service added to the experience. Highly recommend for a cozy, delicious meal!

We were the only ones there for a birthday dinner, it was delicious, I was happy to try something new which was the Lard Na, noodles with carrots, broccoli, beef, and gravy. The gravy was so good. Also really chill and nice customer service, will definitely come back when I can.

Since moving to Jacksonville, we’ve been searching for an authentic Thai cuisine restaurant to go to and this is the place to go! I’m so happy we decided to try it and we will be coming back again and again and again! Customer service is excellent and the food is the best! It’s located in the back residential area, but don’t let that discourage you! This is the best Thai restaurant in the area! Try it and see for yourself! Thank you, Ann’s Thai Kitchen!

Food is delicious. We had the Pad Thai lunch entree which comes with soup and a salad. $10.75 We had pot stickers for appetizers. $6.75. Serving portions were large. Scrumptious!!!!!

However, it takes a minimum of 20 minutes for food to arrive even when you’re the only customer. Keep that in mind.

The young male cashier is not the friendliest person but he is NOT rude. If you ask him a question, he will answer even if it’s a simple yes or no and withouta smile. He does not make small talk. Again, he is NOT rude, just not friendly.
