We have waited two years (almost to the day!) to come back to see Annie and her sweet husband! The food is SO good that we often reminisce and wish we lived closer! Any time we are in town, this is the very first place we come to eat. Annie’s husband is a highly accomplished chef who left the big city to open this quaint lil gem of a restaurant. Everything is made fresh to order, exactly to your liking. Give it a try – you won’t be disappointed!

First time eating here I got the fish and chips which was amazing! I brought my wife back to try the food here with me and hands down the second time was perfection! Salmon plate was outstanding, delicious and cooked to perfection. The fried rice and egg drop soup were also very good. The lady and chef were so polite and welcoming. Terrific food portions. Definitely recommend this spot! 10/10

The reviews for this restaurant are purely misleading. We ordered three different meals and could barely eat any of them. The food was genuinely awful. Our plates were practically untouched, yet we still paid the full bill (nearly $60) and left.
Strangely, the food tasted exactly like another terrible Chinese restaurant nearby in Seaside called Jim’s. After doing a bit of searching, it appears the businesses may be related, which would explain the identical quality and horrible flavors.
As I was paying, the woman I assume was the owner asked what was wrong. I told her the food wasn’t to our liking. She said nothing else and charged us full price without a second thought.
If I were running a restaurant and a customer clearly hadn’t eaten the food I just served, I’d at least offer to comp the meal to avoid an experience like this — and a review like this one.
I’m not being overly critical. My 8-year-old son wouldn’t even eat his cheeseburger, and we added avocado, bacon, and cheese (which cost around $6 extra). If a kid won’t touch a bacon cheeseburger burger, something is seriously off.
Lastly, the restaurant itself is dirty, just like its sister location. Tables and other surfaces are sticky/tacky to touch…gross.

Annie’s house is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Monterey area. Food is fresh with high quality ingredients and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. The owner Annie is also very kind and provided great quality service. If you’re craving some Chinese food give Annie’s house a try. 5 Stars

Small little restaurant owned by husband and wife. Totally loved their food. You must have their pot stickers. And ask for their garlic vinegar sauce. They make everything in house. The owners are very friendly too. We had the dinner plate for two and had so much left over. Can’t wait to go back. One of the best local Chinese Food places we’ve been to.

Love the new remodel and all the cute pictures inside, nice, clean, airy atmosphere with a lots of natural light & good amount of seating for dine in. A beautiful statue of the good luck Buddha right in front next to the register.
Met Annie herself, really nice & generous lady. Placed an order of chicken w/broccoli & fried rice & orange sesame chicken w/steam rice. It was delicious! Friend rice is nice & flavorful. Chicken is nice & juicy, broccoli & carrots were cooked perfectly with a nice crunch to it still. A little too saucy, but it’s fine, I can use it on my steam rice.
Overall, a lovely hidden gem in Marina. I like to support mom & pop shops & this is one I’ll be supporting. I’ll be going back for more. Will try the Singapore curry chow mei fun next.
