The food was delicious and different good!!! The waitress was very happy to explain the menu as we didn’t have a clue. Got a appetizer and then a platte. The phone booth was just an extra step back in time it was great. Loved this place

The German DNA in me (@1/4%) was quite happy with the food as was the rest of me. I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first time at this restaurant and I don’t know anyone that’s been here before. I had the elk & rabbit stew and it was so flavorful and hearty that I’d highly recommend it. The potato cakes appetizer was ok, a little oily for my liking but the people that were dining with me liked them more than I did. The salad that came before my meal was very good. The desert was my second favorite part of the meal after the stew. It’s a very dense lemon cake with a delicious cream in the middle that was very delicious.
I did not give the German names to the dishes as my German is non-existent but I didn’t add pics of the awesome menu and I should have described the dishes well enough that one can find them on the menu.
This is a very comfortable, cozy, Grandma’s house feel type of place that seats less than 60 people which seems like a lot of people for this building but there may be seating upstairs I’m not sure. This is a two story house which gives to cozy feel especially on these cold cloudy and snowy days here in Colorado.
My wife will just love this place and I can’t wait to take her there.

This is the real deal! We enjoyed delicious, authentic german food in a great setting. Highly recommend the jagerschnitzel and the bacon-wrapped tenderloin. We will definitely be going back.

Celebrated our anniversary here! Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!! Delicious authentic Bavarian/German comfort food with a nice selection of German Beers and Wines. The server was knowledgeable and explained any foods we didn’t recognize. This is a hidden gem! Canon City has really developed a variety of good quality cuisines to try and enjoy! We will be back with friends and family!

Tried this for the first time for lunch. Very nice authentic interior and atmosphere with German music playing in the background. Nice menu selection. Had 6 people in our party and ordered/tired a variety of food. All was very good and portions were great. People may complain about prices but wasn’t isn’t more expensive nowadays? Well worth the money and we’ll be back for sure! Highly recommend!

Was excited to try, but it wasn’t what we expected. The ambiance was okay, but still a little “french” from the previous business. It was odd that one of the hostesses was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, considering reservations are preferred and plates are $25+.
If you’re seated by the stairs, be prepared for constant stomping up and down the stairs while you eat.
The food wasn’t bad, but definitely isn’t worth the price. Vegetables were obviously frozen and steamed so long they were basically safe for infants.
The desserts were the best part.

Hoping that the quality improves, considering the amount of money people spend there. It would be nice if the city had a fun restaurant that stands out from all the others.

Wow! Tried Anneliese for the first time last evening. SUPERIOR!! Located at the site of the former Le Petit Chablis Restaurant in Canon City, Colorado, which we loved, we were not sure about what could possibly fill its shoes. Surprise!! The food was excellent! My wife had the schnitzel which was perfectly prepared, and I had the duck which was tasty and delightful. Portions were generous. The accompanying long grain rice was lovely as were the German vegetables. I didn’t realize that a German salad would be served before the entrees, and it was wonderful (green beans, cucumbers in a vinegar style dressing, and WONDERFUL WARM German potato salad!). Fresh bread, and a nice glass of wine and we were happy. We will be back!!!!!

My wife and I went out to dinner for the first time in a long while and we are so glad we chose Annaliese. The atmosphere was quaint and beautiful, and food even better. For starters we had cucumbers with a salmon filled cream cheese on top. Yes, it’s as good as it sounds. Then the salad sampler showed up. Each of the three samples had wonderful flavor. I could have been more happy. For the main course I had the oven baked trout (perfection) and my wife had the goulash, which She loved. We will return here again, and will recommend Anneliese to all our friends. What a great addition to Canon City
