Anna’s Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant that opened its doors in July 2023. It offers a unique dining experience with Bosnian-Serbian-American entrees and cocktails. The restaurant also has a summer patio where guests can enjoy their meals outdoors.

This is a delightful small restaurant with a home feel. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food… oh. Wow.
Everything is “homemade.” You won’t find prepackaged, bagged, frozen, or box ingredients here. It is all put together from scratch by Anna and her kitchen team.
From Bosnian specialties liked stuffed peppers, goulash, and cabbage rolls to more unexpected treats like a Greek salad I take home with me every time we visit, the food is *special*.
It may sound corny, but you can really taste the love that Anna puts into everything she does. Every bit of it is a little piece of her and comes from the heart.
We were finally bold enough on our fourth visit to ask to meet the lady behind what has become one of our favorite restaurants. She is gracious and kind, taking time from her very busy kitchen to greet guests and talk a bit before hurrying back to the stove.
Because this is a small, family run restaurant, and because everything is made on site, you won’t get “exactly the same thing” every time you order. Hey, if you want that kind of bland, machine consistent glop, go to Olive Garden or Applebees – they’ll be glad to heat up a frozen entree for you. But if you want fresh made food that comes from the heart, go see Anna and her team in Evansdale!

Anna’s mom was our delightful server this morning ( although it was close to noon, so we decided on lunch after looking at the menu- so many Eastern European choices! ) And we did good! I ordered the Bean Stew with Sausages and my sister ordered Stuffed Cabbage Rolls. So delicious! So filling! And the homemade bread served with it- hot and fresh out of the oven!
The restaurant is decorated with so cute and tasteful, super clean, tablecloths and saucers with the coffee!

My grandma and I went here today on a bit of a whim. We are so glad we did. If you’re looking for food that is a bit different than your typical diner fair and truly delicious, this is the place for you. Anna herself, the owner, took our order and prepared the food with her husband. She was delightful to talk to and answered all of our questions when we were unsure about some of the dishes. She even brought us out samples of their delicious bread. Anna steered us in the right direction for a one of a kind burger and a delicious Bosian breakfast dish. The cheese spread it was served with was out of this world wonderful. Every time a dish got brought out for a table, it looked so good.To top it off, we then ordered a raspberry crepe with a Nutella type sauce and crushed up cookies. This was amazing.
Did I mentioned that everything is homemade? The crepe, the bread, the cheese spread… In talking with Anna, she has such pride in this place and told us these are the foods she cooks in her own home, so you know they are good. This is a fairly new place to the area and deserves to be packed. You’ll for sure walk away with leftovers. People will also need a little bit of patience as it is a small crew running the show, but take it as an opportunity to enjoy the company and savor the food!

Salads were fresh and tasted good. Without explaining every dish individually. I’ve tried 5 different dish options. Overall, I feel that food was very fresh and made to order. The food did lack flavor and was a bit bland, which was a bit odd considering that this was very fresh food. Dishes could use more spices that are already there, just more of it. Anna was very pleasant to speak to and offered great service.

I’m a trucker and this is my first time stopping here since my load wasn’t ready at Tyson down the street and I’m really glad I came. The place is very comfortable, the service was good, and the food was even better. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by their soup and burger so that’s what I always order on a first visit. The chicken soup while tasty was lacking vegetables which was disappointing and the fact that I got noodles instead of the dumplings like I had asked for was also, but that aside it was a full bowl that was served, piping hot, on this 24 degree day in December. The real star was the burger though. I’ve never seen this type of bread before but it was delicious and so was the humongous burger inside it. I declined any toppings beyond ketchup and mayo. 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend and will definitely come again!

I’m a trucker who hauls out of Tyson just next door… I’m so glad this place opened up! The food was delicious and the service was top knotch! I ordered the regular Bosnian burger with fries and had one of their peach drinks. Very fresh ingredients. The burger was huge. I had part for lunch and the other part for supper. I’ll be back! My total was $20.00.

What a fun and refreshingly different experience! The food was flavorful, fresh, the restaurant clean and tastefully decorated. My daughter loved the fresh bread and bean stew, I had the sauerkraut and sausage. Both were delicious!

The cabbage rolls were everything that I did not know I NEEDED! I did get the food to go, so it is a bit drippy to sit and eat in the car, but they were Homefood. So so warm and tasty and coziness in every bite.
Also comes with delicious mashed potatoes and some kinds of flat bread that was fresh and warm and amazing.
Eat here. Do it.
Cozy atmosphere, I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Out of a very few places I’ve eaten here in Waterloo of a similar type, i have yet to like what i ate. Until….. i came across Anas Kitchen. Please refer to the pictures provided. My God, the quality here is: SUPERB, the price is more than reasonable. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered here and could not eat it all. “Pay once eat twice.” CAUSE You know you’ll take some home and have another meal from what you just ordered. Nikola-you’ll always have me as a customer and thank you for staying true to what the food should taste like!!! Well done brother. My new favorite is “Gurmanska Snicla”
