I had a lovely me-time dinner at Annapurna with a good book and Ricky (the owner) for company. This unassuming restaurant dishes up delicious food and comfortable coziness. I had a starter of fried brinjal, a main of paneer saagwala, and mango lassi (with homemade yoghurt and ginger honey) to end off on a sweet note. Ricky spent time explaining the flavours of the menu to me, and made me feel at home throughout. What a lovely restaurant!

What an absolute gem! The lamb curry at Annapura was out of this world – rich, flavourful and perfectly spiced. Paired with their soft, buttery naan, it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
The food is simply divine, but what really makes the experience special is the owners. They are amazing and personally interacts with the guests, making you feel so welcome and valued. That personal touch makes all the difference.
I can’t wait to go back for another incredible meal! Highly, highly recommend!

Rickie and his wife are honestly amazing and so approachable.

This is my second time back at this location and last time I’d promised my review. Now a year later here is it.

The food is great, a solid 4.2/5 – authentic North Indian dishes with expert spice mixes.

Service is a 4.4/5 with the owner and his wife manning the restaurant.

Atmosphere is 3.8/5 – parking is a bit annoying, but that is the fault of the square. Lighting is very pretty and romantic with open seating under a roof on the middle of the square. Dinnerware is clean and aesthetically fitting.

Worth eating and then coming back to dine again.

I would always recommend this restaurant- my favourite curry place in the Cape to date.

My friend took me out as a treat last night, and we both had the most amazing experience! Neither of us had much experience with Indian cuisine, but Ricky and his beautiful wife Luki were the most incredible hosts. Warm, welcoming, and so helpful in guiding us to choose the perfect meal.

The food was absolutely divine. soulful, flavorful, and bursting with richness. Every bite felt like an explosion of amazing tastes! The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy, perfect for any occasion.

Thank you so much for creating more than just a restaurant. You serve food made from the heart and soul. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Lovely, lovely, lovely! Thank you from Esté and Mark xxx

We had a delightful evening at Annapurna. From the moment we stepped in, the cheerful, inviting vibe set the stage for what became a truly memorable meal.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Each dish burst with flavor, clearly crafted with love and meticulous attention. The spices danced harmoniously, the ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was charmingly simple yet elegant. Whether you crave hearty, soul-soothing curries or lighter, more refined options, the menu has something to dazzle everyone, even the younger ones!

The service was warm and engaging without being intrusive. The staff were enthusiastic, eager to share their favorites, and genuinely seemed to relish introducing us to their culinary delights.

Annapurna is not just a dining spot; it’s a joyful experience. One of those rare gems that leaves you not only satisfied but truly uplifted. Highly recommended for a fun outing!

Very nice place. The owner was very involved and served us the whole night. Very friendly. We were a table of 13 and we had a set menu with the mince, chicken and, cheese and corn samosas for starters. We then had the lamb curry and butter chicken with naan bread and white rice for mains. I have had better samosas but they were full and light and crispy with some good flavour. I enjoyed the mains, not spicy at all, but we asked for mild… Just in case . Some of the lamb pieces were a bit tough but mostly soft and tasty. Butter chicken was good and the naan bread was very yummy. The atmosphere was very cosy and welcoming. It is quite a small restaurant so book in advance. I would recommend going for the regular menu, but definitely worth the visit. I felt that it was a bit expensive for what we got. Very enjoyable though.

Anapurna rates as the very best Indian restaursnt I have visited in South Africa, and there have been quite a number of them! Personal service of the kind one can only dream of, ambiance to stir the soul and food that ranks with the best of anything I’ve savoured in my life, wow! Needless to say, we’ll be back for more, many times!

Excellent food, superb hosts, fantastic service. My father can’t recommend the lamb shank enough, and the Goan prawn curry has never been anything less than perfect. Overall a top quality restaurant for Indian cuisine.
