annaB’s Gluten Free Bakery in Mechanicsville is amazing! I had previously written them off due to some horrible experiences with a previous owner and the quality of food. I was informed that annaB’s had a new owner that took over a year or so ago, and that I should give them another chance. So very glad that I did!! OMG, everything we have gotten has been delicious!! The owner Kim is so incredibly friendly and welcoming. We got her to make a spice cake for my birthday in October and it was absolutely delicious. We have tried so many of her goodies, but some favorites are the oatmeal cream pies, hand pies and pecan pie. I have celiac but my husband doesn’t and can eat anything/everything. He said the pecan pie is the best he has ever had and the chocolate chess pie is better than Ukrop’s. Her pie crusts are pretty amazing, so I have started ordering them from her to keep stocked in my freezer. We just ordered some stuff for Christmas and decided to try the lemon pound cake – it was truly the best! I could go on and on, and to say we are pleased with annaB’s is an understatement!! I am happy that they have more storefront hours than previously and they did a fabulous job remodeling the place, it looks great! They also carry a good variety of Mom’s Place GF products, as well as some great dry pastas. It is so nice to have a dedicated GF bakery to walk into and be able to eat anything I see, and knowing that everything is also very tasty!! So if you were like me and wrote them off more than a year ago, please give them another try…you will be pleasantly surprised!

OMG What a fabulous place! The birthday cake they made for my father-in-laws 90th birthday was gluten and dairy free and everyone loved it! It brought tears to one woman’s eyes as she hasn’t been able to enjoy it due to allergies!!! Thank you so much – all of the treats are absolutely wonderful!!!

I got a few oatmeal creme pies. I tried one in the parking lot sitting in my car. It was so amazing I went back inside and bought two more! So yummy! And the lady that owns it was so so nice! I definitely recommend.

Came in to get some items for a friend who is gluten free. The woman who waited on me could not have been nicer or more accommodating – she went our of her way to explain things to me and offer suggestions even giving me a taste of a coconut cupcake (!) That was the only item I tasted but the friend who got the goodies was high in praise for the bread, dinner rolls and lemon cupcakes. Support this bakery if you can – the location is not on a beaten path but it’s worth the effort!!

I love their gluten free, dairy free brownies! Has to be my favorite item so far. I added a little more fresh lemon juice to the lemon cupcake icing and that added just enough tartness for me. All their baked items were tasty, soft and not dry. I had a hard time telling they were gluten free.

I had to cut out both gluten and dairy so finding this place was a life saver. Everything is gluten free and there is also a large selection of food that are dairy free as well! The owner was very helpful and extremely nice. Will be coming back again!

We are an allergy free family but had company coming who needed gluten and dairy free food. I figured out meals but was worried about dessert. AnnaB’s came to the rescue – so helpful when I called to order, super easy for my husband to swing by and pick up and best of all, so delicious that none of our guests knew they were gluten/dairy free. Everyone loved them, spice and chocolate flavors especially.
