Great place to eat….and I’m not a BBQ or Smokehouse kinda girl. Food was delicious, waitress was amazing and happy (even as busy as she was), and hostess/owner/bartender Jamie makes you feel welcomed! So wonderful, we did 2 nights in a row on a recent visit to SW Wisconsin.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The ribs and brisket are some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. No sauce even really necessary, (although the sauce they serve on the side is excellent too so It’s a tough choice) and if that wasn’t enough to get me back, the people there on my last visit were one of the friendliest group of strangers I’ve come across in a while. Bartender was super nice. Definitely going to be dining here whenever I have a chance!

Excellent dinner on Monday night when most places are closed. The service was awesome and very friendly. The locals eat here! Had a fried walleye dinner with some coconut shrimp, excellent! Husband had the grilled pork chop with Fuji apples and it was the best chop he’s had. I will be attempting to duplicate the dish. 🙂 Go here! We would have had dinner another night, but they are closed Tues.and Wed. Yes, they have Spotted Cow and Potosi beers. We will be back!

Great food, just takes a very long time every single time I’ve ever been…. place wasn’t packed, took us 45 min to get our food… waiter was beyond nice and did a very good job. Food was very good!

They were extremely apologetic as they were busier than they had expected to be which made the wait times a bit longer than a typical Sunday evening. However, the waitress really made an effort to make a connection with my kids, pointing out the 80’s arcade game they were welcome to play and even letting my 5 year old refill his own soda at the bar. The food was great when it arrived and worth the wait.

I had a great dining experience while I was here. I’ve heard their burgers are fantastic but I’m not much of a burger person so I ordered coconut shrimp instead and it was delicious! However, the service was a bit slow, for example I had to wait over ten minutes for one can of soda. Overall, this is a great restaurant as long as you’re not in a hurry.

This place is a standout in all of SW Wisconsin. Jamie runs a fun welcoming bar, where everyone is always up to greet a new face and figure out who you know in common. The food is stellar. The owners come from KC, and it shows. The baked beans are amazing! (Me: Jamie, how much sugar is in here? Jamie: We measure with our heart.) I love the pulled pork and hash browns. The Sunday chicken is good too. My mom now lives just up the road from the Anker, and you can bet it’s where I’ll be whenever I fly back to the motherland.
