Wondered in after reading an article about the historical building designation and the tortilla hype. I had the chorizo burrito and a sample of the red chili. Both were fantastic. The conversation with Gracie, the 2nd generation owner really warmed my heart. The spot is historically significant and has delicious home-cooked tortillas/ burritos

Good food, got the red chilli burro. Some of the best tortilla I’ve had. Also some of the worst service I’ve had. Waited 45 minutes for food and it came one at a time which confused the elderly in my group. Music was also too loud for them to hear the person taking our order.

My buddy was excited to take me here (on a Saturday, for lunch) knowing I’m a big fan of good torts. We both got the red chili burrito and I got some tortillas.
Everything was wrong that day, maybe an anomaly, but being my first time… well, I’ll not be returning.
Burrito – Pretty big, but had like 2 oz of extra stainey-red juice that went everywhere and stained everything. Kinda bland too. Maybe because it was a white guy and an Asian they thought we’d not be chili people. Or maybe just not a spicy dish. Took quite a while for what it seems it should have, only two other couples ahead of us. Maybe 15-20 minutes or so which would have been no biggie had they delivered the goods. 1 – 10 … maybe a 4.
Tortillas – they said they make them to order, ordered with the meal. Didn’t come with the meal. Went in after the meal and they said they’d get them going. So, I stepped out to talk to my friend across the street from the front door where we were parked. The male employee comes out 3 minutes later, stops at the sidewalk, holds up the bag. Didn’t come 20′ across the little street, but stopped and basically said come and get ’em. They were’t warm at all so I’m like, man, just wanted some fresh friggin’ tortillas, is that too much to ask? Got home and checked them out… 3 or 4 of the 12-pak were partials, kind of gnarly looking and some were kinda dirty-looking as if from the baking stone was pretty dirty (hopefully…) They didn’t look appealing, tossed in the trash.
So that’s my first time at Anitas. I see lots of good reviews, so must have been an off-day for the kids working there. I’m not the picky PITA customer either. Friendly, positive etc. But I know service and I know food.

We stop by this place on a recommendation from a friend. Very cute market in the middle of a residential neighborhood. They are quite a few people there waiting around for to go orders which to me is a great sign that the food will be good. The service we got was very friendly and a positive experience. I ordered the big breakfast burrito which I thought was just a little bit pricey, but it did taste good. I just wish they used a little bit more seasoning. My wife ordered the carne asada and although the texture and the burrito were good, the meat was very salty. I enjoyed my order more than she enjoyed hers. I think it’s one of those types of restaurants where you have to know what their specialties are, and then order that. It was our first time in. I will definitely give these guys a second try because I love the small businesses like this like I said before the place was really cute, it was very clean great service. A portions were huge so if you’re looking for food that you can actually break up into two meals this is the spot for you. The garden seating area outside and so unique. Go ahead support small businesses and give these guys a try.

Food portions are huge! The burrito I got was good. They made the food fresh so there was a bit of wait time but it was well worth it. The menu google has is not up to date so you may want to call ahead of time to see what you want. The homemade tortillas are a must have. They come out warm and fresh.

First time coming here, last time coming here. It’s no wonder this place is constantly one foot in the grave. One burrito takes 45 minutes to make, they don’t make coffee despite it being on the menu, and the kid behind the counter shoots you the evil eye for asking if this is a regular thing considering all the coffee items behind the counter. At least the AC works. At time of posting, I haven’t had the food, tempted to just charge back and leave. All of the stories of this place’s history mean nothing if it’s awful today.
Edit: 45 minutes and the potatoes are STILL raw.

Amazing tortillas! We ordered breakfast burritos with chorizo, egg, and potato and the birria pizza. All had great flavor and were a good portion. Friendly family owned business. Thank you Gracie!

Went there for 2 breakfast burritos. The help there is NOT very polite. Almost get the feeling like its a privilege to eat there. I’m a retired government customer service specialist. They need better training, and or better employees. If its legacy they want to continue, then they better shape up. The new generation just does not care. Sad. I was at this place many years ago and the older gentleman and lady were way nicer. Too bad.
