Very cozy, family run, the food is amazing, I got the sloppy joe grilled cheese and fries with banana bread to go, when we drove back through the area, we were going to head back for dinner, but the were closed. Food us delicious! We will be going back! The take out banana bread was in a clam shell with a joke on it 🙂 This place is great! Want to go back for the other desserts!

This little unassuming diner on the side of 421 has a saying, enter as strangers leave as friends. I believe that, that is the prefect representation of this place. Anitas is more then a small diner with good food and great staff. It’s a place where the community meets. You couldn’t ask for a better hometown diner.

Very unassuming diner along 421. They had the nicest people working there, clearly a favorite of locals. But it was a pleasant stop along the way. I had the veggie omelette with a few changes, which they did well. Don’t let the outside looks fool you they have great food.

Cozy restaurant, with friendly and attentive service. Food was basic, fill-your-belly diner food. The cinnamon roll with melted butter was delicious! I could have just had that with a coffee and it would have hit the spot.
It was a nice stop to eat after an early morning, watching the Sandhill cranes nearby.

We just finished an amazing breakfast after a freezing morning of watching the Sandhill Cranes in Medaryville, IN. This little diner advertises “home cooking “ and they deliver! Open from 6:00am to 2:00 pm, you can’t possibly do better for lunch or breakfast. The building is unpretentious but the service is great, and there is wonderful food at reasonable prices—easy to see why it is such a popular hang out for this small farming area community. We left with doggie-bags and feeling like we now have friends in Medaryville. When we come back next year I bet they remember us! I wish Anita would open a branch in mid-coast Maine!
