Stopped in for a late dinner. Menu options were good/average/adequate. Wait staff was mixed but our server was friendly and warm. The salmon Caesar salad was very good – the salmon was excellent except too salty on the top where a nice crust of seasoning flavored the fish. The Western burger was good and quite filling. The salad bar looked good but none of our party tried it. I think there were good dessert options but we were too full to try any.

We were driving through from out of town, saw mostly good reviews so we stopped to eat. We were pretty disappointed. My hubby thought his mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese were microwaved bc of the taste and the hot spots in the food. I got mac and cheese and chicken tenders with the honey bourban sauce with fries as my side. The sauce drizzle was actually the only yummy thing we had. I was kinda bummed there was only a small amount. The food looked okay but it just didnt taste like anything (excluding the honey bourban glaze) even tho we put salt and pepper on all of it… the service wasnt very good, we had to wait a little long for such simple food when they werent very busy. Lastly, we didnt get a refill on any water, coffee or pop so that was a bummer. Just really unimpressed and surprused by all the good reviews.

My Mac and cheese with chicken and bourbon sauce was great. Anna the waitress was good too and the service getting the food was fast.

Stopped for dinner traveling through Missouri. Food was pretty good, but the buns and honey butter were yummy.

I am happy to have Angus Branch in Mt. Vernon. Fourteen family members met there to celebrate a birthday. Our server was very pleasant. She worked very hard to make sure everyone had what they wanted. I ordered a prime rib french dip sandwich. It was not as good as I anticipated but I ate it. I think everyone else in our party was satisfied with their food. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was the quality of my meal. I will certainly come back to this restaurant but I sure won’t order the prime rib sandwich.

Food was good although my fries could have been hotter. I had the Western Burger which I liked. My wife had the salmon salad which was good. We were there at 8:00. The service was a little slow, but the waitress friendly.

My first impression was that this was bar food with an added buffet. Then my wife and I ordered a simple chopped steak, and we’re absolutely blown away my how much it tastes like steak instead of just hamburger. It was an excellent meal the we continue talking about for the next thirty-five miles down the highway. Very pleasantly shocked!

I did enjoy the buffet. My dining partner had the grilled chicken garden salad she enjoyed it. I was slightly disappointed in the coconut cream pie. It was mealy not set well. The blackberry cobbler surprised me it was bright red I assumed at first it was cherry cobbler but it tasted well. The chicken on the buffet was tender and the breaded fish was tasteful and flavorful. I did not give it a 5 only because I rarely give the highest rating and only to formal dining establishments.

Food was average with not a great deal of flavor. Fried fish for myself and a ribeye for my wife. Sides were Cole slaw and wild rice for me. My wife just wanted loaded fries for her side. Our orders were hot and correct. Took 14 minutes, and some change, to get order out. Which I thought was a bit long. Complementary rolls were given and they were very good. There was two other couples there to eat and one couple got there minutes after we did. So, they weren’t busy at 4:20 PM on a Saturday. Waitress was courteous and checked on us as needed. I thought for $42 for 2 was a bit pricy. As stated, the food was good but not great. $42 for GREAT food is acceptable. Good food, subtract $10. It’s worth a visit for sure. My 3 rating is a strong 3.
