We had dinner at Angus Barn tonight. We were seated quickly, since we had a reservation. We each got steaks and a dessert. Our waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. We had a really good time.

Angus Barn is a Raleigh staple that lives up to its title. The atmosphere is so unique, the staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the food is top notch. For the amount of food received, it’s well worth the price listed. Also recommend some cocktails to start your night off right. We will definitely be returning as we didn’t even get a chance to enjoy a dessert!

Very fun to visit the Angus Barn finally. The minute you walk in from floor to ceiling you feel the barn house theme. It feels almost like a family attraction at Disney world. The service is absolutely phenomenal and our server, Matt was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic, the beef ribs were so tender and the steaks cooked to perfection. Don’t sleep on their bourbon and wine collection either. However, it is quite pricey and given the theme it’s not an upscale ambience that you usually find in this price range but if you’re looking for a fun themed restaurant with great food and service while trying to avoid that typical stuffy ambience check this place out!

The vibe is…different. You can tell this place is popular locally and seems to be good for large groups and celebrations. Reservations are needed for weekend visits. To start you are brought cheese dip and crackers and pickles and olives. The server seemed personally offended when I answered that I didn’t particularly care for blue cheese, though I will say I did try and prefer the white dip (which is blue cheese and cheddar) vs the yellow dip. Our mild annoyance with being asked to pack up the cheese and crackers multiple times ended with us finally telling him he could just take them away. Overall, the service wasn’t bad, but we did feel constantly rushed to pack food up and have the table cleared for whatever was next. Note, I can’t imagine not having food to take home as there is so much of it, but it would be nice to be able to enjoy the meal at our own pace. I had the wedge salad, pre chopped, with Thousand Island Dressing. I thought it was very good and the added walnuts were a nice touch. Again I was annoyed when the waiter attempted to take my salad while I was still eating it. Apparently the cue, that my husband was finished meant I was also finished. Salads are served with warm sweet rolls and honey butter. A pet peeve of mine is rock cold butter being served with bread and that unfortunately occurred here. For the main, I had prime rib and a baked potato, which was pretty standard. For dessert, we had coffees and the Sawdust Pie – and at the server’s suggestion, had it warmed and topped with a caramel ice cream. It was delicious! Overall – this dining experience was just ok. A bit on the expensive side, and I would not return here for a date night, but might for a group/celebration.

This is the most overpriced place I have ever been. Poor food. The before dinner app was generic Ritz crackers with gross cheese and and plain pita crackers. My potato tasted liked a microwaved one..tough and not fluffy.. salad was warm yuck, food was mediocre at best.. won’t be back. Pretty place but poor food. Don’t know why it’s rated so high? So many other places to go.

This was my first visit to Angus Barn, and the entire experience was exceptional. I had the 7oz bacon wrapped filet with creamy tomato basil soup and a baked potato. The chef prepared the food perfectly, and I must admit it was probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Our server went way beyond my expectations with the service she provided. The atmosphere was incredible. A lot of relics from years past was a very nice touch. I will definitely visit again.
