Review for Angler’s Choice Seafood – Sanford, FL
I found Angler’s Choice Seafood through Google and placed an online order through Clover at 6:16 PM. Their website clearly states that they close at 8:00 PM on Saturdays, and the sign posted on their door reflects the same hours. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:30 PM, well within their posted business hours, only to find the business completely closed.
There was no notice, no explanation, and no sign indicating why they shut down early. I attempted to call multiple times, but no one answered, and I never received a call back. Meanwhile, my order—nearly $90—was fully processed and charged. At this point, it feels as though they simply took my money without providing the service I paid for.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. There was no communication, no accountability, and no effort to resolve the issue. A business closing early without notice while still accepting online orders is completely unacceptable.
Due to this inconvenience, we have filed a complaint with the fraud department and notified our financial institution to dispute the charge and ensure this situation is properly documented.
I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone based on this experience. I expect a full refund immediately, and I hope the business takes steps to prevent this from happening to other customers.

I cant wait to come back for more! The Live Crabs are so juicy, huge and meaty! Prices went up, but theres no other place in Central Florida that has Live Crabs THIS good. Make sure to Call ahead of time to make sure the LIVE Crabs are in and that someone is there (the google hours are a bit off sometimes.) And trust me, Dont be fooled by the “Smelly, Small Shack” look. I almost turned around in the parking lot because it didn’t look too clean. However thank goodness I gave them a chance and went in and bought $100 worth of crabs. The owners are very sweet, honest and will work with you. My mouth is salivating writing this review! I need more! Keep up the good catches! Thank you!

WHAT A GREAT TIME! My family took the Sanford River Boat dinner cruise for Dad’s 70th and they made it so special. The service was fast and friendly. The staff was so kind and the food was delish! Even took some home for later 🙂 MUST DO IN CTRL FL!

We are out of towners and used Hilton’s honors dining to locate and order from Anglers. We just wanted fresh seafood and knew nothing other than previous reviews. The place is very unassuming and we may not have stopped had we not already ordered. But when I walked in to pick it up, I was greeted with so much warmth and such great service. It’s only carry out but they did such a wonderful job or quickly preparing it and packing it up, bringing it out to our van and we felt so appreciated as customers. If we were locals, this would be a go to for us. The food was prepared wonderfully and it was so delicious!! Thank you!

I stumbled across this hidden gem via Google Search as I was in search of some down home fried fish.
Ordered the Fried Whiting and fries and when I tell you….it did NOT disappoint.
Paid $13 plus tax and received a generous portion of fries and 2 fish filets and two slices of white bread.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover and give this place a try.

(PIC BELOW) My mom and I went on the Anglers Choice Seafood cruise on 10.26 and it was nothing like we expected per the videos and reviews. The positives: The DJ was the best part of the cruise and the bar. Opportunities: This is advertised as an ALL YOU CAN EAT Seafood cruise, and it definitely was NOT that. The lines were kind of slow and once we got in line you received 2 snow crab clusters, a scoop of crawfish, scoop of shrimp, 1-2 corn max, 1-2 eggs, offer of fried fish and fried chicken drumstick. Now the flavor on the snow crab was good but it was cold and everything else was the same maybe a tab bit warm and we were the first people to eat. After we returned to our table, about 30min later we asked for blue crabs they told us to wait. Eventually we did get them they brought them and poured them on the table while people were still eating. Once all the tables were called, we got up to get some additional food only to find out the buffet was closing so it was only available from 630-745ish. Mind you it’s about 3 floors of tables that have to eat so I was thoroughly confused. The lady got on the microphone and announced the buffet is closing so everyone at my table was looking around confused. Once back to the buffet I was able to get salad, 3 shrimp, few chopped up potatoes and 1 corn and that drumstick. Snow crabs had a good seasoning but just cold and the blue crabs had no flavor at all but plenty of seasoning on the outside of the crab. So afterwards all we could do is listen to the dj and socialize. Again, my mom loved the music and dancing but after a while that kind of got boring as it was nothing for you to eat on or anything. The complimentary drinks were sweet tea and water and that ran out as well. During the dinner service we did see people with Black to go containers but that was when tables were still being served so I guess they got their regular food and to-go food all at the same time. But for the price we spent it definitely was not worth it at all. I think the concept is good the owners have to revisit this because it was a true flop. That was the only plate from the buffet.

Anybody who has been to Mrs. Apples knows good quality crabs. This place right here is the best in central florida. Jumbo crabs are actually TRUE TO SIZE, and full of meat. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

My favorite type of restaurant, specialized cooking, immense value, high ratings, (bonus: an accidental find). All crab platters with accompaniments were delicious – perhaps the most special was the snow crab.
It is an event of a meal. Perfect to accidentally happen upon on the rare occasion of finding myself in sanford FL. I will likely try to make it happen again. Nice people. This will stay in my mind.

The blue crabs are great and come in a nice buttery sauce. The fried shrimp have a subtle flavor that kicks in at the end. Sometimes places leave the shell on at the end of the tail when they fry shrimp, which, thankfully, this place didn’t do. The crawfish came out just right too. The oysters came out perfect with just the right seasoning.
The family greeted us with the biggest of smiles and they must love what they do since they’ve been around for over a decade. Keep in-mind, this is a take-out service only unless you sign up for a special event, like the all-you-can-eat cruise that’s coming up soon.
Thanks again for the hospitality ☀️ This was our first time trying out the place and we’ll definitely be back again.

Customer service was the worst I ever experienced. Very unkind and the atmosphere is dirty and smells bad even for seafood. I ordered catfish nuggets and they delivered fried catfish skins. Absolutely horrendous service. If you put out garbage, garbage comes back to you. Never again will I do business with anglers choice. ♂️
