Angelo’s Italian Restaurant in Winnsboro, Texas is a quiet, unassuming local spot off of South Main Street. It has a family-friendly environment, the service was nice, and the food could have been a bit better. If I come again, I’ll have to try their pastas, as their pizza was not much to write home about. Overall, great local spot with friendly staff!
Food: We ordered two medium pizzas – pepperoni and a half meat lovers / half veggie. We also ordered some garlic bread. All of this came with some free bread. Note for the garlic bread – the garlic taste is strong, not your typical garlic bread bought at the store.
Service: The service was fair. There was one server out front – she was kind and welcoming. She had to juggle between receiving incoming orders over the phone, people coming to order to-go, and several parties who were seated.
Atmosphere: Quiet, yet family-friendly. Enjoyed the artwork on the wall that represented Italy and Italian culture. Low ceiling and wall texture made the place feel very homey, like you’re eating dinner in someone’s home.

My favorite dish is Chicken Marsala and it can either be really good, or terribly bland. I knew that I was taking a chance ordering it from a new restaurant. Sadly, I won’t be ordering the Marsala again. The Veal Parm was good, but the lobster ravioli was delicious. The ravioli made up for the bland Marsala. Tiramisu was traditional.

This is legitimate Italian food! The building is small on the outside, but the food has big flavor. Lots of options for any taste. I had the chicken cacciatore. There were a couple artichoke pieces that were stringy, but the flavor overall was amazing. Portions are big, so you won’t leave hungry. Prices are mostly reasonable, and the service is above average. We’ll be back!

WTH!!! Picked up a meatball sub 4/23 and $18…he tipped $5 without even looking at it. So paid $23 (This food has not been altered after we opened it). They lost our business forever with this move. A meatball slices in 3 isn’t a meatball sub. Disgusting.

The food was sub-par the service was absolutely horrible. Asked for lemons for tea and said the don’t have lemons there. Food took to long for a salad, spaghetti and lasagna. I asked for bread for the table I assume the owner said I ordered a salad and it didn’t come with bread. Don’t care i said for the table. Never stop back by to ask if everything was OK. Owner and was yelling from the back at someone. It was dark and smelled of mold. Just not a pleasurable place.

Ordered a Chicken Cesar salad. What I got was green leaf lettuce dressed in flavorless dressing and flavorless chicken that didn’t smell appetizing at all. No crutons! The roll I had was good. The sauce was basic and lacked flavor. After one bite I excused myself and offered to pay for the roll and coke. She told me no charge and I left hungry. Sigh!

I was there visiting friends, wanted some place to eat, the waitress was very nice, but the food was. Let’s just say no, .I’m sorry I don’t like to say that about a place.
I may try it one more time.
Maybe it will be better next time. It was clean

The worst “Italian” (and I use the term very loosely) food I have ever ever eaten. Garlic bread was a hoagie bun (I think or maybe a hot dog bun with some kind of red stuff on it). The Shrimp scampi had 4 shrimp and spaghetti noodles and some kind of red (sorry) slop on it. The Shrimp were tough and the rest was gross. The best part of the ” meal” was the sweet tea. I will NEVER eat there again.
