Angelo’s = Jersey Shore Approved, Chicago Guy Confused (In a Good Way)
A good buddy of mine from the Jersey shore told me, “You HAVE to go to Angelo’s,” and honestly… I respect the recommendation because this place feels like I accidentally walked into a New York bar scene with pizza on standby. Not complaining — just reporting as a slightly confused Chicago guy who’s used to pizzas that could double as a manhole cover.
Now listen… I can’t bag on the pizza — it’s definitely solid — but it also wasn’t the best slice I’ve ever had. It’s more like: “Hey, I’m pizza… and I’m here for a good time, not a long time.”
What Angelo’s does absolutely crush though:
✅ Friendly service (everyone was cool and welcoming)
✅ Elite people-watching (I saw at least 3 first dates, 2 fantasy football arguments, and one guy who looked like he was negotiating world peace)
✅ Drinks priced surprisingly reasonable for being this close to Beach Drive and Central — I kept waiting for the “downtown tax” to hit and it never did.
If you want a fun vibe, solid food, and a spot that feels like it has a permanent soundtrack of “YO!” in the background… Angelo’s is your move.

Grateful! The girl from Philly was a bad ass host and did not lie about the quality of pizza and Italian Subs … .I ordered after 2am as well! As a tourist from Washington State, I not only appreciated the excellent food, but also the homegirl from Philly who gave me the ins of St. Pete! I love talking to warm locals to get educated on the vibe and I love Angelo for getting the right people to assist in serving such great eats, especially late night eats! Much ❤️!

The food and pizza is good for the price, but they sure are stingy about their pizza toppings. 3rd time I order extra pepperoni and this is what they give you. Also paid extra for all flappers wings and got mostly drum.

Michelle was not friendly, demeanor was racial, I ordered 2 pizzas, with a bottle water and a long island, I had to reach for the water across from the bar, I asked for a straw, she aggressively shove 2 skinny stir straws in my cup, I had to ask again for a regular straw, she grunted. No one spoke, said hello, this was my first day here, new to the area, just wanted to get out of house and treat myself and was totally not treated right, will not be going back, reporting this to who needs to know, won’t be coming back, will work on protesting this establishment for their disrespect. MY MONEY IS GREEN NOT BLACK!!

We use to go to Angelo’s once a week and then about 2-3 years ago the service started to go downhill. Everyone seemed unhappy they were rude and always had an excuse for why we had poor service (including “it’s the end my shift”). We stopped going as much and just on special occasions and then the food prices went up, they got rid of draft beer and the food quality wasn’t as good but I still swore they had the best wings around. Today I decided to pick up food for dinner because we were craving wings and this is what I got. A dozen wings that were smaller than a credit card with not even a full bite of meat on them. They were dry and completely overcooked. The pizza was undercooked and the cheese wasn’t even fully melted! This is the absolute last time I will visit this place and I’m extremely sad about it because it use to be our favorite place to go. This was all I got and it was 57$ absolutely no excuses this time.

This place is definitely a local spot. The $11 gyro is sizable and delicious! We also ordered a 14″ specialty pie. Spent $50, had tons of food! Definitely check it out, especially if you are in the mood for a gyro!

I had a great experience at Angelo’s Pizza in St. Pete! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal. The pizza was absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and fresh toppings. I tried the cheese pizza and it was cooked to perfection.
The service was friendly and efficient, with the staff making sure we had everything we needed. The menu offers a great variety, and the prices are reasonable for the quality you get.

Angelo’s Bar and Grill is a fantastic little neighborhood spot with a warm, welcoming vibe. From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel right at home. The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing—and the whole place had a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
Now, let’s talk about the food… WOW. I started with the house salad, which was fresh and perfectly dressed, followed by their garlic knots—soft, buttery, and loaded with garlic flavor. The star of the meal was the chicken Parmesan—tender, crispy, and smothered in delicious marinara and melted cheese. Absolutely amazing!
Beyond the food, Angelo’s has a great setup with pool tables and games, making it a fun hangout spot. Whether you’re grabbing a bite with family or meeting friends for a casual night out, this place has something for everyone.
