The food was a good portion was the meat was tasting so terrible .
Everyone we asked the server anything she said” let me ask” and she would repeat and say “ I don’t know how it’s called in English “
We ended up paying and going somewhere else. Definitely don’t recommend
They go above and beyond with the service and they have an amazing happy hour if you’re looking for someplace to unwind. The apps are delicious and even though the bar area is half seated all day long the atmosphere is still quiet and relaxing. (They do like to cut loose later in the evening on the weekends, and have some fun holiday events, but Angelica’s is super family friendly during regular hours and they even have some “north of the border” kids menu options for those picky eaters. (I don’t have to worry about my son’s peanut allergy here either which is so so hard to find when you want authentic Mexican. My kiddo was so happy to finally get to eat chips and their amazing salsa!)
Speaking of which, just the other day when I ordered some chips and salsa for takeout their card reader went down and instead of making us to track down an ATM while the fresh chips got cold they told us to just go enjoy the food and stop back in within a couple of days if our payment didn’t go through on our banking app (which it did later that evening!) But they were willing to just let us come back later to settle the bill, they seriously treat everyone like family
Their prices are the best too. About the same if not less than some other Mexican restaurants I’ve tried but the food is cooked to absolute perfection and the portions are huge! (It reheats well too ) The sauteed veggies are always sizzling with the best cuts of meat, super fresh ingredients. (Their chicken fajitas are still my favorite even though I’m working through the menu slowly , haha.)
In my opinion Angelica’s is the best restaurant in town, not just the best Mexican food. But for any family dinner, quick lunch, or for a go to place to take my tattoo clients to dinner after a long tattoo session, Angelica’s is the best around!
Getting food poisoning from the chicken will always land a restaurant on 1 star.
Our first visit last week was fine. My kids ordered a quesadilla and burrito from the kids menus while I had the 2 entree combination, a tamale and enchilada. All was well, we even had a dessert to leave full and happy.
This last visit honestly felt about the same, we ordered a steak quesadilla and chicken verde enchilada, which left us full and happy again… until hours later when the food poisoning from the chicken kicked in.
I hate giving bad reviews, so what I would say is, it seems like everything else was good, just be weary of the chicken.
Service: The service was fine. Both visits, the servers were very helpful and made sure to check on us periodically.
Atmosphere: The design is set up to enhance the bar experience, so the lighting was dim, and the TVs were all playing various sports channels.
The booths were comfortable and the tables were clean and neat.
Food: I wish that I could give them another chance, but after my experience (see above) I don’t foresee myself returning anytime soon.
We went to this restaurant directly after our wedding ceremony and had a great moment there.
