I went in today to ask if they stocked a wine and was told very rudely by the male staff member that the store didn’t have it. When I left he made a very snide grunting noise. Come on, folks, this is a wine store in Upper Montclair, with a small selection- couldn’t there be at least a bit more emphasis on decency and politeness toward customers?

Five dollars more for a bottle of Dewar’s white label than at any other liquor store in the area. Most of the liquor and beer is marked up as well. Haven’t done a price comparison for the wine so I cant say if its marked up, but I would imagine so.
Save your money and go somewhere else, they don’t even have a great beer or liquor selection anyway.

Consistently fabulous over the 9 years we’ve been going there. Everything is competitively priced. The wine selection always features a great range of Italian reds. There’s always an interesting mix of single malts including the staples. Plus the refrigerated section is so expansive, whatever I need is usually already cooled.

I knew the selection was good so I stopped by to pick up 2 good bottles of wine to thank a friend with. The gentleman who helped me did so within 5 seconds of me being in the store. He asked several questions, made a couple of recommendations and we agreed on the bottles.
I was going to be shipping the wine to my friend out of state and he offered that service immediately. The total price for the wine, service and shipping was reasonable and he took the boxing and shipping tasks off of my long list.

Good overall wine selection. The “rated over 90 priced under $20” rack is always a good place to start and I’ve had many good bottles from this rack. Beer selection is the best in the area, with a good mix of known quality beers along with rare beers for those who are looking to be a bit more adventurous. Liquor selection is average.
