Hi, we’re ANDO a new independent locally owned Matcha and Coffee shop. We serve high end specialty matcha, espresso and pour overs in our wonderful garden cafe. We are a craft focused team that is looking to highlight the natural flavors and work of the farmers we rely on. Please look forward to the evening wine and food program as we grow!

Worth drive from Honolulu. Even flying from NorthCal. Best match place I’ve ever been (except my home for sure haha).
So carefully prepared matcha drink: freshness, weight, temperature – everything thoughtfully measured.
Desserts: so delicious, not over sweetened, fresh, very balanced taste
Staff: very friendly and attentive
Place: modern, wood, greens, no loud music, but relaxing with new furniture in a shade

I’ve made it a goal to try all of the coffee shops in Kailua since moving here 1.5 years ago and this was my last stop. And honestly, I think I saved the best for last. The taste and quality of the espresso was heavenly. I got an iced latte, with their one and only syrup offering (different than all other coffee shops, however this place really seems to focus on the flavor of the coffee itself, which I appreciate), and topped it with cold foam. The latte was just so amazing. Most coffee shops put so much milk and/or syrup into a latte that it completely overpowers the espresso and just tastes like you’re drinking sugar milk. I know a lot of people like that, but I actually like tasting my espresso, so this place was perfect! My order (with no tip, because they do not accept them) was $9.95. I was a little shocked at the size of my to go cup, as it was the teeniest cup of coffee I’ve ever paid for, but when I tasted it, I decided it was worth it. It’ll just have to be a rare treat since I definitely wanted to go back in immediately and buy another because I wanted more.

A gem! The best espresso in Hawai’i and the best ceremonial grade matcha I have ever tried. The matcha basque cake was also a traer, with its subtle taste and creamy texture. The love, artistry and mastery of theñ craft is infused in every product and detail of this lovely place.

Wonderful gourmet coffee shop just like in Japan! Pour over was delicious, matcha cheesecake tasty and not too sweet. Staff were friendly and very polite. A little slice of Japan in Kailua.

Probably one of the most lovely coffee shops on Oahu and a must-go in Kailua.
You can feel the passion from the owners and staff. Attentive, impeccable service. Specialty matcha and dialed-in single origin espresso are what makes this shop a cut above the rest.
The pastries are not necessarily a standout, but the hojicha-matcha basque cheesecake was a highlight.
Please do yourself a favour and check this place out. The staff are so inviting and create a welcoming environment in which you can learn more about their selection, so don’t hesitate to ask. If you’re still not convinced, I made an hour round-trip just to stop by for a cup.

They have pour overs and you can smell the grounds to help you pick which one you want. Some are roasted here and some are from Japan coffee roasters. I don’t drink matcha it looked pretty good. I got a cube croissant with jam that was delicious. They have outside & inside seating.

We both got the matcha latte and it was super good!! The matcha is definitely more earthy than floral, and the monk fruit works really well as a sweetener. It is pretty expensive for the size, we paid about $9 each – but otherwise, no complaints about the matcha itself!!

Colombia El Silencio Geisha Washed Pourover ($15) – 5 stars
Best geisha / pourover I’ve had. So smooth and delicate. I got floral notes, like a refined jasmine tea, with no unpleasant sourness or bitterness. As someone who typically gets flat whites/lattes I was pleasantly surprised.
Latte – 4.25 stars
Good light roast. While I didn’t get any notes I enjoyed that it didn’t have the bitterness from medium/dark roasts.
Butter cake – 3 stars
Very dry; scone-like and served with mascarpone.

I had the most delicious Colombia El Silencio Geisha iced pourover with lychee and yuzu notes roasted by oubaitouri in Tokyo here. The baristas were very friendly and helpful in the description.
I have to admit, the Tokyo butter cake (original and blueberry lemon) which was akin to an English scone was a tad dry in the middle. The mascarpone cream helped a little though!
I would love to return for a matcha drink as they are clearly passionate about their craft drinks here!

Absolutely stunning cafe! Definitely the best specialty shop on the island. The coffee professionals here are highly skilled and craft with intention.
