It hits EVERY. TIME.
We order from here about once a week. I typically get some seasonal beverage and my partner gets his caramel macchiato with al a carte bacon and potatoes. Today I ordered the honey ginger latte (iced) and…well… I don’t think I’ve ever audibly said “OH” like that without needing a towel after. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and umami in a beverage, and so simple. Elegant is the word.
I also ordered the “gobbler” sandwich cause I knew I wouldn’t be able to make lunch for myself today and wow, just seriously wow. It’s delightful and I will consider it a crime if it isn’t added to their year-round menu. It’s also HEFTY- It’ll be lunch and dinner. The perfect flavors to make you feel “festive” but also not sick of turkey and dressing. Brussels on a sandwich is a power move. I also have to note that every time I’ve gotten food here with potatoes as the side, they do not skimp. I don’t know if I’m just catching the chef in a good mood every time or something but it’s so nice to see breakfast potatoes not served in a bird size portion.
My only note is that their seasonal menu is still “fall”, I don’t know if they have any winter stuff but honestly, I’m NOT mad about being able to get pumpkin spice still.

Another location that is serving high quality coffees and their own baked goods. The croissants look as authentic as French and freshly made daily by their bakery. Delicious drinks and beautiful ambiance. Parking is available as well as convenient drive through. Beautiful location.

THE best place for breakfast! Especially the avocado toast and the iced coffees with flavored foams. Every time I come into town, I come to one of the Ancora Cafes just to get the avocado toast with the shaved brussel sprouts tossed in honey, and cashew cream spread. It’s fantastic! They also have delicious fresh homemade donuts. And the prices are amazing! Yum!

So sunny and beautiful, with easy parking in the back. Bea welcomed me instantly with a huge smile, and helped me pick a drink when I didn’t know what I was in the mood for. It was a lightly sweet golden milk latte (which is a favorite of mine I’d forgotten about), and was absolutely delicious. Bea was so sweet, and even said goodbye as her shift ended and she was heading out the door.
The space is filled with peaceful earth tones, and lovely lines. There are plenty of stools at the counters along the windows to chill and watch the activity outside.

We are spoiled for good choices for coffee shops on the east side of Madison now, and Ancora adds another excellent option. We have been several times since they opened, both eating in and the drive through. Workers have always been friendly and efficient, the coffee and food options are several cuts above the big chain coffee shops (they have one of the better breakfast burritos around), and the seating is well lit by giant windows and always clean. The drive through only has room for a few cars, so it fills up easily, but they do a good job of moving customers through it. The pricing is a little more expensive than at national chains, but you are getting what you pay for and more in terms of quality.

My partner and I probably go to Ancora a bit more than we should, but it’s always great.
The Monona location is new and just a few steps away from us, and every time we order pick up, it’s always ready and fresh.
I love their fruity pebbles latte (keep it year-round please!) always a treat! Their donuts are so fluffy and my partner loves them, I’m also a huge fan of their buttery chocolate croissants.
My go to food items are their burrito bowl with is fully customizable, it’s filling and I love the flavors. We recently started getting their sourdough toast/jam instead of the donuts (to save some calories ) and their jam is house-made and always fantastic. The flavors usually rotate depending on the season (I love their cranberry apple jam!)
Keep in mind this place is always busy, so mistakes happen, as with any place!
Other than that, the Monona location, in my personal opinion is just as amazing as the others.

Was soooo good. I got the chorizo hash with no egg and the blackberry mint matcha. And I normally don’t love matcha but this was heavenly. Our food also came out pretty fast despite how full it was in there.

Went here for the first time this morning and when we arrived it wasn’t busy but by the time we left there was a long line at the drive thru and people looking for a place to sit inside. The brunch was excellent and the staff was super helpful. Had a latte and eggs and toast. 5 stars!!

Latte was excellent but food was not good at all. Scone was dense and dry, chocolate croissant good, however they have no way to warm up the items. The chocolate croissant would have been much better had they been able to warm it up. Also very limited seating, difficult to sit down if you want to stay there. We will not go back
