I recently attended a celebration of life at the South Amboy Ancient Order of Hibernians and the affair was nice but the hall for hire was a disaster. The day of the event it snowed and management would not shovel the walks or the entry stairs or put down ice melts. And only after the funeral director complained finally a grumpy old man named Bill cleared the walks. Additionally, the same grumpy old man gave the daughter of the deceased a horrible time about getting out of the hall at the end of the event which was must disrespectful and hurtful to the family. This is not a place for your next function as management wants the money without providing any services for it. Bottom lines is the Ancient Order of Hibernians of South Amboy sucks.

I hate to be this person ! But I had booked my baby shower I want to say end of February beginning of March for June 7th – I have cash for the deposit. However unseen circumstances occurred and I needed to cancel my baby shower. I was told I could get my deposit back. I had moved from the address that was on my “ contract “ so I asked if I could either pick up my deposit or it be Zelled to me. I was told it had to be mailed to address on the contract -I informed them I had moved and asked if it could be mailed to my new address. I was told “ it’s been mailed “ it’s now been 3 weeks I have yet to receive my deposit back, I asked to come pick it up in person and I’m being ignored. I asked for the to cancel the check that was sent and for me to get a new check and I’m bluntly being ignored. I just want my deposit back !

My daughter had a 30th birthday party there 5 yrs ago and this past Sunday, on June 30, 2019 for her father’s celebration of life and it was very clean and plenty of room for our guests. The bartender downstairs was very accommodating and friendly.
