Just went here. I am turning 23 and my ID is based off my parent’s new address. The bartender (and supposedly owner) SCANNED my VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE and proceeded to ask about my zip code, which I immediately gave from my previous house, but does not match up with my new ID. When I tried to explain the situation to him, he refused to listen, even saying, OR ADMITTING, that I am 22 but would not serve me. He continued to say that I need to leave, even though I walked in the bar 15 minutes prior with no issue. Had he been willing to listen, this situation would be very different. We could have called the cops but decided not to escalate the situation further. I am not one to leave negative reviews but people need to be aware that if you don’t meet the owner’s “standards” and fit in his box, then you won’t be welcomed here. Go to a different bar! Enjoy life!

Anchor is honestly just a really good time. The bartender Joey is phenomenal, and it’s the kind of place where people come to relax, hang out, and stay awhile. There’s pool to play, a super social crowd, and you can even pick the music through an app, which makes it feel extra fun and laid-back.
They’ve got simple snacks like bags of chips if you get hungry (fair warning—nothing fancy), and while there is smoking inside, the atmosphere is still lively and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a casual spot with great energy and good people, this place delivers.

Place sucks. The bartender made eye contact with me, sighed like I’d personally ruined his evening, and then disappeared for ten full minutes. I ordered a simple drink. Somehow it arrived warm. Didnt realize that ice was apparently a premium add-on.

Decided to come here with my family during our vacation to Anna Maria. Worst mistake of my LIFE. When I walked in the odor coming from the bar nearly knocked off my feet. However, we decided to push through and order a beer. I initially noticed a stringy fluid atop my glass and refused to drink it. After sending it back, I watched the bar tender blow his nose INTO MY BEER. When I asked the server about this she laughed in my face and proceeded to hurl obscenities at me until I left the bar. Shocking experience for such a beautiful town.

We just came to hangout and drink. Drinks are reasonable for being on the island. We love coming here to play darts and shoot pool. When we vacation on Anna Maria Island, this is one of our go to spots. We visit frequently. Bartender was pretty awesome too!

i went to the anchor inn last year when i was 22 and had a great time but this year at 23 my ID was called fake. it is a real ID and i showed a pdf of my passport too but was still declined. the scanner must be broken. i am sad cuz i like it there
