THE BEST FOOD AND SERVICE! Feb 28,2026 “Jen” out Anchor Inn server was a perfect host, friendly even when the establishment got really busy at 5-6 pm Saturday .
Yes a winner for sure. Hamburger deluxe hot and done as requested! The cheese steak was perfect, the breads on each were perfection. Fries crinkle cut fries hot and perfectly cooked, not over done or under done. Clams casino you can taste the seasoning and its not overwhelmed by bacon it was served steaming hot! Plates and silverware were clean as a whistle. Prices less than others with better food and service. Our drink we wanted to try was a lemmon martini , it was refreshing we will return for that its was perfection. If your out locally, go to the Anchor Inn you will not be dissapointed. Thanks for checking on our reviews.

This place is legendary. My boyfriend and I went on our first date there it’s so special to us we always go back. The atmosphere is amazing and I love how down to earth and chill the bartenders are. They are so welcoming and treat you like family. The chicken parm and bread are my favorite things that I get but I’ve tried some different menu items and each one was great!! One time they had fried flounder and the filet was bigger than the plate and tasted soooo fresh! We always go there and will continue to do so.

The Anchor Inn has amazing bar pies and very friendly service. Ice cold beers, pizza, great friends, and Sunday football…Nothing better!

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat after a gymnastics competition nearby and the Anchor Inn did not disappoint! Friendly staff and fabulous food in the midst of a February snowstorm made for a wonderful experience. Definitely an old school beach vibe. Ordered two soups off the special menu (craving more) and pizza with an amazing crust. I’ll be back.

Our pizza adventures continue and we found ourselves at the Anchor Inn a few nights ago. The place was full of families and friends enjoying a varied menu. We came for pizza but ended up ordering an appetizer and salad. Everything was very good! Service was fast and attentive. There’s an accessible entrance. Street parking was easy, but there’s also a parking lot. The place is probably a madhouse in the summer, but we had no trouble getting a table.

Moved to the area about a year ago. One of the greatest finds. Its not on the water so most people dont know about it but it is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.

February 4th, 2024 “First Visit”

Stopped here for Lunch with Kit Dwight, this past Sunday…

Last night I had watched a 6 year’s old YouTube video that had been posted by Johnny Cthepizzaguy during one of his earlier Pizza reviews.

Grateful for his recommendation and very pleased with the food we had chosen.

Kit Dwight had chose the Crab Cakes with Baked Potato and a side Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.

I chose the Bar Pie with Sausage, Peppers and Onion’s with a side of Onion Rings…

They were out of the Onion Rings, so I replaced them with the side Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing and a order of Garlic Bread with Cheese…

The Pizza was delicious, fresh toppings, sauce was out of this world and the crust was crispy and charred to my liking…

Next trip will be for the Delmonico Steak !!!

Today, July 21st, 2024 is that next visit…

Kit Dwight and I decided we would have a early dinner and took a ride back to Ocean Gate, NJ and visit the Anchor ⚓ Inn.

We made our first visit in February of this year and felt the need to return.

Kit had the Crab Cakes again, but decided to have a Baked Potato and the side salad.

I had the Pizza that first visit and this time I decided to try the Delmonico Steak with a Baked Potato and the side salad.

We also had Cheesey Garlic Bread for an appetizer as we did back in February…

This restaurant is a true gem, food was perfectly prepared, delicious and worth the trip.

The decor is similar to the Brother’s Restaurant in Red Bank, NJ and also has a similar vibe to the long gone Clam Hut in Highlands, NJ.

The warm, nostalgic atmosphere from growing up in Monmouth County has continued in Ocean County!!!

Came with a group of women and most of us Weren’t impressed with the seafood options however the steak looked Great. Our Waitress wasn’t very friendly and seemed bothered by our requesting things that should have already been on the table like water, extra napkins. When we asked for extra butter it came with 6 pieces for 8 ladies. The ambience is nice. An old fashion neighborhood bar. But the restaurant part needs improvement, from the wooden tables and uncomfortable chairs to plastic cups for our soda pitcher drinks instead of individual soda glasses. Very Disappointed and probably won’t go back to eat however the restaurant was busy on a Saturday at 4pm
