They may call themselves Anchor Bar, but their food is not even close to the original. As a Buffalonian, I was very excited to make the hour trek from Denver to get to try this. I left so disappointed with the food! Although, the service was good.
The pizza was thinner than a frozen one from the market – not the thicker crust I’d expect.
The roast beef couldve been from Arby’s, (or even my cats canned food), and the roll was not an original – more like a Kings Hawaiian with some caraway and regular salt.
Now the important part. The wings… Had about 0.1oz of sauce on each one and were cold. Came with one piece of carrot and one piece of celery. At that point, don’t bother
Pizza rolls….didn’t hit.
If you’re a Buffalonian – look elsewhere or book a plane back, as this is a huge miss for the quality we expect!

We had a great time watching the Buffalo Bills here! The pizza was great! GF crust available and they know how to char the pepperoni! My husband loved the beef on weck. Brandon was friendly and attentive. The wings could have been a touch crispier but they were still very good!

I graduated high school in upstate NY and I’ve been to the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo. I’ve tried wings all over CO with little success. This place reminds me of home. Thanks for opening a location here. It’s fabulous. Tons of screens inside too, it’d be a great place to catch a Bills game! I had the Xtra Hot and Mango Habanero on traditional wings, they were great! Also had a piece of cheesecake. Can’t wait to stop by again.

Great atmosphere and the food is pretty consistent. Honestly, their wings are good but seem a little pricey to me. Also, seems to be a lack of consistency on the wings and pizza. Most of the time the pizza is some of the best I have ever had. However sometimes it falls a little short. I feel bad for some of the waitstaff because it seems like they could benefit for more coverage or just some help from the managers. We have been there several times where there seems to be one waiter/ waitress for 15 tables and that’s not really fair to them. I will say it’s amazing the number of bills fans that are up in northern Colorado. The atmosphere here is amazing during a bills game. Even if you don’t like the bills, go in on a Sunday and you’ll be transformed in to how sports bars used to be. Talk about a great time, just don’t expect to have a conversation at the table. Highly recommend and can’t wait to see what this place becomes once they have a little more time under their belt.

We went in on a Wednesday, there was a discount on wings but also trivia night. Not the greatest atmosphere with the trivia being super loud and being seated in the trivia area but not offered a chance to participate. We ordered 50 wings and a side of fries. The wings were large and cooked well but there was not a lot of flavor. The mango wings were the spicier of the five sauces we got, even hotter than the hotter buffalo sauce. The price was high for what we got especially the side of fries and we felt like we would have gotten better food at thw wing shack

The service was excellent. Wings were cooked perfectly and were big. Tots and fries were great. Sauces were ok. Xtreme Heat wasn’t very good. X-Hot was great. Habanero Ranch dry rub was awesome. Great ranch too!
Tons of TVs to watch all of the sports. Will definitely come back.

We heard about Anchor Bar from people we met while traveling through Colorado. They said if we loved wings, this is THE place, outside of Buffalo NY to go. I was not disappointed, in fact it’s was so good we’re going to go again before we travel home. The wings were crispy and saucy and the blue cheese dressing is legit house made. The kitchen can do all flats or drums upon request. Happy hour prices and menu options were good. The restaurant is HUGE with plenty of bar area as well as dining room options and outdoor seating as well. We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with our bartender James. He was knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. He gave us some good recommendations for local spots while we are visiting the area.

Stopped into the Original Anchor Bar last night and it was a cool experience overall. The vibe is classic sports bar—huge TVs everywhere, perfect spot to catch a game, especially the Stanley Cup Finals.
Service was friendly but definitely lacking. Our waitress was nice, but not very attentive. I had to go up to the bar multiple times just to get a refill, which was a bit of a bummer. Food took close to 40 minutes to come out, even though it wasn’t very busy.
We ordered a cheese pizza that wasn’t quite it—dough and crust seemed undercooked and just didn’t hit the mark for us.
But the wings? Absolute game changer. We tried the Sweet BBQ and Garlic Parmesan, and they were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor—worth the visit just for those alone.
All in all, it’s a solid four stars for the wings and game-day vibes. Just wish the service and other menu items matched the wings’ level.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch, all the food was incredibly tasty and arrived in a timely manner. Our server B was so nice and helpful- we liked her so much that it was concerning to see her running her tail off to accommodate what seemed like far too many tables for one server. We are hoping that perhaps it was just a fluke and there was a shortage of employees that day. Would be a shame if such a fun, bubbly young lady was ran ragged like that often. Nevertheless we will absolutely be back for another great meal and to see B.

Each wall was adorned with high-resolution televisions, showing a wide selection of sports. Beer was good (I chose the GD Anchor Bar Lager. A lager perfect for lunch (and happy hour $5 pints ). For appetizers, we chose the pizza rolls and fired quartered pickels, which did not disappoint ( a bit greasy, but that is to be expected). The pizza was great, but the main event was their buffalo wings. Their Buffalo wings are on par if not better than the original in Buffalo. I ate with my wife’s family, who are from the Buffalo area. They championed the opinion that these wings are better than the wings from Buffalo.
P.S my 6 year old liked the spaghetti 1 thumbs up.
P.S.2 The air conditioning was perfectly comfortable.
