I was casually browsing for a place to grab coffee when I stumbled upon Ancestors by accident. After glancing at their menu, I was immediately intrigued by their offerings and decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I asked for their most popular sandwich, and they recommended the chicharrón pan. It arrived warm and perfectly assembled, with crispy, golden chicharrón that had just the right balance of crunch and tenderness, paired with fresh bread and flavorful accompaniments that tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was deeply satisfying and full of savory richness. I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. I definitely recommend this place—and to top it all off, the coffee was excellent: smooth, aromatic, and the perfect complement to the meal.

Today we tried this place for the first time. We ordered a lomo saltado sandwich and a pan con chicharrón. They were SOOOO good. I’ll definitely come back for more. Note: I’m Peruvian and we are used to eating Peruvian food on a daily basis and the Peruvian dishes here did not disappoint

Today (10/20/25) was my first time going there. I got the Below item. It was simply delicious and the price was good. Owner/ cashier was friendly. We had a brief conversation while waiting for the card payment to go through.
Atmosphere- it’s small (the inside) and outside has like 6-8 tables. The inside has a wall with a painting that tells the owner’s story.
I’ll be back, it’s a lovely place to have in the San Leandro community. It was a really good sandwich, I’m bummed they close at 2

This hidden gem in san leandro offers amazing flavors with great quality, the service is spectacular, short wait for the food, they also serve lunch all day which is great for those getting off work in the early morning, not sure what they put in the food but be careful cause it will have you coming back for more. Definitely recommend.

The pan con chicharron was not bad. 6/10 the pork can be a bit more cooked and leaner.
They ran out of aguadito soup by 11:30am on a Friday, something to keep in mind.
Overall, I would recommend it if you got that Peruvian breakfast sandwich itch.
Looking forward to try the rest of their options.

This is a Peruvian & Palestinian spot which serves food and coffee/juices.
I ordered the Lomo Saltado for lunch along with Falafels on the side.
The Lomo Saltado was super flavorful with the meat cooked tender and juicy.
The falafels were good too, a lil dry but still light and not too oily.
Going to try their coffee next time, they serve special Ethiopian coffee which is also sold in packs there.
