Fantastic food, fantastic service, a real gem hidden in an unassuming location. We ordered the camarofungo, the chicken with rice in sauce, and a salad. The food was all fine dining quality with beautiful presentation, large but reasonable portions. The chicken was perfectly marinated and fell off the bone to melt in your mouth. The shrimp was perfect, the sauces were all complex and delicious. The salad was very fresh.
We were served by the owner who was exceptionally gracious and welcoming. The interior vibe is “grandma’s pristine kitchen”. We’d go out of our way to go again.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this café by a Dominican coworker. Since moving to Hazleton I have been disappointed by the seemingly total lack of cafés in the area. I love it here! The coffee is delicious and everything is made fresh, not left out sitting in display cases. We also tried some pastolitos (honestly not sure how to spell that!), and they were excellent. The dining area is bright, comfortable, immaculately clean, and very welcoming. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed…service and atmosphere are excellent. However, the food is not that good and the prices are even worst. Spent 70$ on 3 lunches, 2 empanadas and 2 water bottles. At most it should have been 50$. Not only did you lose me as a costumer but you lost all my friends and family as well

I walk past here coming home from work everyday and thought it was a deli or a store. Was looking for some papas and empanadas for lunch and happened to see a photo of empanadas in the window, so decided to give it a try… so happy I did! Such a clean and charming place, the family running it was very warm and welcoming. The owner took my order and told me to sit down and relax while she cooks for me, reminds me of the neighborhood abulitas house! Her beautiful baby grandson was dancing to the music and was cute entertainment while I waited 🙂 I also noticed they have a slot machine, which is the closest one on this side of town for those looking to play, without having to go down to seybert. Pricing was VERY reasonable and food was delicious! I am mad that I’ve walked past for months and never knew I had a hidden gem one block from home! But now I am happy to know I have a nice place to grab lunch after a long morning of work for now on. If you are in the area stop by, you will be well taken care of and a full happy belly!
