The pho at An An Vietnamese Eatery is excellent Hanoi-style pho. The broth is clear, light yet deeply flavourful, with a natural sweetness from slow-simmered bones rather than heavy seasoning. Absolutely loved my experience at this place! The food was genuinely incredible — packed with flavour and beautifully balanced. I ordered the special combination phở, Hanoi-style grilled pork, chicken wings, and salt and pepper squid, and every dish was a standout in its own way.
The phở broth was rich and comforting, while the bún chả (grilled pork) had that perfect smoky sweetness that Northern Vietnamese cuisine is known for. The chicken wings were super addictive — crispy on the outside and full of flavour — and the squid was tender with just the right amount of crunch.
Coming from a Southern Viet background, I really appreciated how authentic the Northern flavours tasted. Everything felt homemade, fresh, and made with care. The pink guava juice and fresh coconut were a nice refreshing touch to round out the meal too.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner in the city. Prices are super reasonable given the quality and portion sizes.
If you’re after authentic Northern Vietnamese food in the heart of Sydney, An An is definitely worth checking out!

What an unexpected delight! This place truly impressed me with some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in a long time, paired with a warm and inviting ambience. We ordered the calamari, chicken avocado rice rolls, combination fried rice, and chicken pho — every single dish was outstanding.
The restaurant does get quite busy, so I’d recommend going early or making a reservation.
I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the service could use some improvement. We requested a few sauces, and they took quite a while to arrive.
Overall, fantastic food and a lovely experience.

Best Vietnamese food around.
Love this spot, when ever we are in the city we have to go. Even though there is always a queue at lunch it’s well worth the wait.
Very friendly service a special thanks to David for his help everytime we visit. They go as far as remembering our order and names similar to your regular coffee spot.

I’ve heard An An via social media and this is my firt time I’ve eaten here. I really love “bun cha set” here because it tastes really really good, u guys must try this when come here . Plus, customer service is also very good too. Overall, Vietnamese foods are really delicious and everything here is 10 out of 10!!!

i’ve finally been appreciating northern vietnamese cuisine more, and it’s thanks to an an vietnamese eatery ! they’ve got such great dishes that have converted me completely.
their pho was so good, the broth was rich and the beef rib was HUGEEE ! literally slid right off the bone and was so tender.
the chicken vermicelli was also so good, the chicken was so tender and succulent and the vermicelli noodles were seasoned perfectly. very refreshing for summer!
i also loved their salted vietnamese iced coffee, it was so creamy and so yummy. their drinks were so refreshing and had such a great ratio of liquid to ice !
also loved their calamari and their spring rolls, which were super crispy. so if you’re not completely sold on northern vietnamese food, you should definitely check out an an vietnamese !

Delicious Bun Cha! The pork & broth were so flavourful, it was very tasty without being too oily, just perfect. The northern style pho was good as well, as it was flavourful, but still tasted clean. Great Vietnamese food overall in Sydney CBD. No wonder they’re so busy during lunchtime!
