Wonderful homemade pastys! Super helpful nice service!
They sell them hot to eat and cold to take for later! We ate them hot in the spot and took some for later! I would lunch here every day if I could! One of my faves! Also, fab choc chip cookies

My husband and I have been wanting to try a pasty since we made it into the U.P. two weeks ago, but have been holding out because of mixed reviews. We made it to this side of the peninsula and saw Amy J’s and all the great reviews, so we decided to pop in! Great prices and absolutely delicious pasties! Wish they weren’t sold out of the veggie one so we could try one of each, but maybe we can try and get one before we have to leave The woman, I’m assuming owner, that was working today was very friendly and provided excellent chit chat while we ordered. We recommend this place 🙂

We stopped at Amy J’s late in the day, hoping to grab some pasties for our hungry teens and we were delighted that she had enough for all of us still! The pasties and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. It was the perfect warm, filling treat after a busy day in the UP. Thanks Amy J’s!

My wife and I were visiting the area to enjoy the fall colors last fall. Being from West Virginia, neither of us had ever had a pasty before, but as we were planning our trip weeks before, we knew that we had to find a spot to give them a shot.
Amy J’s Pasty caught our attention as we were looking, and the timing worked out in our outing that day, so we dropped in and had our fill!
A wonderful experience all around! Big, filling portions! Wonderful flavors! Great little shop in an old gas station from a different time, and the owners graciousness in giving some of the history was a real treat!

This darling little shop is a hidden gem that you need to make a point to visit if you are in the area. I grew up in West Virginia, and I had never had pasties before. They have a large (16 oz) and small (12 oz) beef or vegetarian offering for you. My husband and I got 1 of each, cut them in half and shared. That was a warm hand full of delishness made with a whole Lotta love!! The flavors were amazing. And the crust was paper thin. How does she do it? If the little table inside is empty, sit a spell and enjoy your pasties and perhaps you’ll be treated to some great conversation with the owners. They were both delightful. I especially enjoyed it when the locals stopped in to get theirs. You could tell they all loved the owners and it was reciprocated. Don’t forget a cookie or 6!

These are the best pasties! My husband had the beef and I had the vegetable pasty. It’s hard to find a veggie pasty that doesn’t include cheese, broccoli, spinach etc. This was just what I wanted a traditional Cornish pasty with potatoes, carrots, rutabaga and salt and pepper. Both were excellently seasoned. It’s worth a trip to Hancock for Amy J’s alone. We also give high marks for the cookies.

Great pasty’s. Just like my ma use to make. Prices are reasonable.
Pasty’s are full of meat. Make sure to get the large pasty.
We’ll be back the next trip to da UP

Got there right at open, the pasties were hot, fresh and ready. Absolutely the best I have ever had with homemade ingredients. Will be back!

They have a super simple menu that you can’t go wrong with. It’s cheap and makes a great small lunch for when you want something simple and fast.

Excellent veggie pasties. The crust is perfect and the filling is traditional veggies only, nicely seasoned, with nothing odd added to the mix.
