Great experience! This was our first time here, thankful the manager recognized that and explained the process because we were a little lost. You just scan a qr code and every truck is at your disposal – this is such a neat idea and a great way to try multiple types of food. The food was pretty good and the shwarma portion was great. One if the best fries I’ve had! Will be going back for sure.

I stopped by Amo Sami’s Shawarma in Detroit and had an average experience overall. The biggest issue was the wait time. It took about 40 minutes to receive just two shawarmas, which felt excessive, especially for a relatively simple order. Long wait times can be understandable during busy periods, but this definitely impacted the overall experience.
The shawarmas themselves were decent. The portion size was fair and the ingredients tasted fresh. The meat was tender and enjoyable, but the overall flavor was not as bold or well seasoned as I was expecting compared to other shawarma spots in Detroit. It was filling and satisfying, but it did not have that standout flavor that makes you want to come back right away.
The staff were polite and the ordering process was straightforward. With faster service and stronger seasoning, this place has the potential to be much better. Overall, Amo Sami’s Shawarma is a decent option if you are in the area and not in a rush, but the 40 minute wait for two shawarmas and average flavor makes it a 3 out of 5 star experience for me.

Insanely good chicken shawarma I’ve been twice so far they stand out from the rest Love that you can customize your shawarma exactly how you want it I usually get it with no pickles and add tahini, onions, and tomatoes The flavors on the bread are incredible and the shawarma itself is massive it’s like 2 in 1 If you order online on a weekday there is no wait by the time you get there it’s ready If you love shawarma this is a MUST TRY ‼️

Went on a regular Saturday, placed an order, and had my food within 10 min. Chicken shawarma was awesome. I’ve had many in Dearborn and this one is in the top 3 for sure. $14 but it fed two people. The girl working was also very nice and helpful.
Honestly very annoying to read some of these negative reviews by people who clearly don’t know what they’re talking about- this place is legit.

It is heavily overrated, more hype than it needs. Typically, a shawarma is thinly sliced meat on a spit – which gives it that tender flavour and aroma. This should be advertised as a chicken sandwich for more accuracy.
There are way more authentic style wraps, coming from Toronto and Ottawa, I can vouch for that.
The pros: Bread is definitely crispy, well seasoned with Zaatar and other spices which was nice. It’s a big sandwich as well, garlic sauce is good. The lemon pepper fries we got was good as well, recommend those.
Cons: Chicken isn’t shawarma, it’s more like half boiled chicken which is than seasoned and placed on a grill with spices. Without the garlic sauce, it wouldn’t be even edible.
I gave the whole experience a 2/5, as the service in the canteen was efficient, driers fries were good, but the sandwich way over hyped and just has no authenticity and lacks flavour.
I would try it again in the future if things change, because everything else was good except the main ingredient – the protein.
Try it if you’re not familiar with shawarma, but if you know shawarma (either it be Iraqi, Lebanese, or Turkish style) – you will be disappointed!

My friends and I stopped by to try the ‘trending’ shawarma, but it was a major disappointment. First, the service was frustrating; they forced us to either order online for credit card payments or pay cash. A single shawarma sandwich was $15, which is extremely overpriced. To make matters worse, it didn’t even taste like authentic shawarma—it just tasted like a basic chicken sandwich. Most importantly, I woke up the next morning with stomach issues. I definitely do not recommend this place and will not be returning.

I placed an online order at 1:50 PM, which was supposed to be ready by 2:00. When I got there, I was told 10 minutes, then 5 minutes, then another 5 minutes. I eventually stopped asking, and the food wasn’t actually ready until 2:30 — a full 30 minutes late.
Even worse, the staff called out every other customer’s name when their orders were ready, but not mine. My food was just sitting on the counter without anyone letting me know. That’s very poor customer service.
As for the food itself — honestly, it tastes really bad. It was extremely oily, greasy, and heavy, as if it had been dipped in oil. Not enjoyable at all.
Between the bad taste, the long wait, and the lack of courtesy from the staff, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I’m blown away at the poor reviews. Thankfully, they weren’t busy when we went to order our food. However, I was warned ahead of time that the food is so good that sometimes they are very busy. A popular spot will of course have a wait, especially with so many people ordering or door dash orders being accommodated. Giving a low review for something like that seems unfair, because the food is worth the wait. This was the best shawarma I’ve ever had and I will definitely be a returning customer!
