Some people also call it the Malabar Style; but definitely a recommended one. Not sure about other items but the prices are definitely decent.

Amazing food! We tried the egg puffs, chole bhatura, lemon rice and gobi 65. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the chole bhatura was possibly the best thing I’ve ever tasted, highly recommend. It is a carry out restaurant so there are no tables inside to eat at.

When I learned that this restaurant had opened not too far from my house I was super excited and today I was finally able to go in and get some food and I am extremely happy with everything. The food is fantastic. I got chicken fry, appam and chicken stew. The owner was extremely friendly, and I also learned that they’re going to soon carry groceries as well which I’m very excited for. They also have a little bakery section and I got egg puffs from there which used to be my favorite when I used to live in India, and they are also very good. I highly recommend this restaurant/grocery store.

Ammas Food is a fantastic place for authentic Malayalee and Tamil cuisine. Their food is delicious, with rich flavors that truly remind me of home. The service is excellent, and the staff is always hospitable and welcoming.I have placed both catering and regular orders through Ammas, and every time, the experience has been wonderful . One of my favorite catered orders is their Ghee Rice and Chicken Roast—it’s absolutely delicious and always a hit!
Beyond the restaurant, their grocery section is well-stocked with a great selection of Indian essentials, especially fresh fish. One of the best things about Ammas is that they genuinely care about their customers—they even encourage us to let them know what we need so they can stock it for future visits.

An excellent place for authentic south Indian food and groceries. Amma’s is a family business and they always greet the customers personally with a smile. Their menu is rich in kerala flavors but also provides for variety through frequent tamil and mumbai styles of cooking. Food is always fresh , well portioned, very tasty and appropriately priced. We love how it has the taste of home and is not the same as processed foods. Being vegetarian, we love Mondays when the menu is largely vegetarian and provides for significant variety from chaat and apps to tiffins and entrees. Love the thorans/poriyals and sambar. So happy to have Amma’s in our neighborhood. Yay!!

Carry-out restaurant and grocery store with a rotating menu of authentic South Indian cuisine that is divine. The owner is welcoming and gracious like no other, and the food truly tastes like it’s been cooked with love.
My favorites are the Beef Coconut Fry, Thattukada chicken fry, Chicken 65, Spicy Pakkoda, and the Thalassery biryani’s.
With that said be prepared to occasionally wait a few minutes during peak dinner rush hours – but it’s well worth the wait.

As other reviews have indicated, the name itself conveys mother’s food and it sure gets close, real close, serving up authentic Kerala cuisine for those who know and crave it , served hot and fresh, made with authentic ingredients and spices and with a rotating list of daily specials that keeps things interesting. I’m now a regular and am very glad they are in our area despite what is a bit of a drive to get there to pick up – absolutely worth it! Clearly a family run business with a warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly service and food quality is top notch. Highly recommended!
