Amigos Grill is an upscale casual Mexican restaurant located in the Ladera Shopping Center of Portola Valley. We are a local-favorite hangout offering tacos, burritos and Mexican entrees. The restaurant is owned and operated by Don Pilar Contreras, who also is the producer of Tequila Don Pilar. The Amigos Grill cantina features his tequilas and margaritas. Amigos in Portola Valley totally won me over. We went on a busy Sunday and even with the crowd, the service was quick and super friendly. The dog-friendly patio was a huge plus—such a nice spot to hang out, especially on a sunny day.
The food was great across the board. I had the chicken mole and some tacos, and both were packed with flavor. The mole had that rich, layered taste you hope for, and the tacos were super fresh. Their homemade hot sauce is seriously next level—spicy, balanced, and honestly something I’d buy if they bottled it.
The vibe was really relaxed and fun. There were a bunch of people watching the game, but it didn’t feel like a sports bar—just good energy, not too loud, and still felt like a place to enjoy a proper meal.
Can’t wait to come back, especially when the weather’s nice again. Definitely a new favorite for a casual, delicious meal with a chill atmosphere.

Wow. Visited to their own branded Tequila.
And, i bought one for my uncle.
When i asked about their Tequila, the person at bar offered me some tasting. It was great experience.
I ordered two plates of food.
Their flavor were mild. It is good for ppl who prefer not strong flavors. ( healthy )
The food was fresh, I like them.

Good Mexican food! Outdoor seating is the best place to enjoy the meal. We started with Ceviche for appetizers and had the Fajita Salad Bowl, Shrimp Fajita, Veggie Burrito for main course. We tried Mango Margarita drink and it was delicious. Nachos and salsa are served for free as in other Mexican restaurants. All the items were good.

The Amigos Grill is relaxed, spacious and great value for money. I ordered the Tacos Pescado – no onions because that’s my weird requirement 🙂 and got chips and salsa as part of the meal.
I work remote Mondays and Fridays, so this was an awesome break while driving back from a super weekend with a friend in Sonoma. I’m sure I saw god with her a number of times, so hanging out at a cool, relaxed taqueria today was just the right choice ♥️

It is always packed during lunch. It took over half an hour to get my food that I ordered to go. The staff was great the food was excellent. Be prepared to wait for a while on your food.

Wow, I was impressed with the food. It was delicious and the service was great. I was not a tequila person until I tried theirs. Absolutely great stuff and the margaritas were awesome, finished off with a couple of shots of anejo. Gracias Amigos Grill!!

Ok things have definitely improved so I’m raising my score back from 1 to 4 which is where it used to be. I’m going to blame the bad experience on pandemic recovery and will keep you posted! The chicken amigos quesadilla is awesome (get the chunks of grilled chicken not shredded) and big enough for two. Love it! And service has definitely bounced back! Good job amigos!

Called to place an oder so I didn’t have to wait as my lunch is limited. Arrived at the restaurant and ended up waiting 30 minutes for 4 tacos….my lunch was over by than. Didn’t get to enjoy my food, not to mention it was honestly not good. No flavor. Tortillas were soggy. Not worth the wait. Will not return to this restaurant.
