This is an incredible authentic Mexican restaurant in Kirkwood, Missouri! The flavor and the sauces that Amigo’s Cantina shares with their guests is so flavorful and so inviting! The shrimp was so tender and not overcooked. Just got back from Santa Fe New Mexico and the food is so comparable along with the margaritas! Reminds me of a silver coin that I always got in Santa Fe!
Highly highly highly recommend this place! Free parking although it is a little on the tight side depending on what time you get here.

IF you have not been here you need to go as soon as you can! Great service and a wonderful atmosphere!

I absolutely love the baked nachos!!! My favorite thing to order from their menu and their margaritas are undefeated! I also had the veggie burrito with rice and beans. Good experience to say the least. I will be back

Great Mexican cuisine in the middle of Kirkwood. We loved outside seating in the back patio. Kids options available. Free public parking in the back.
Margarita flight allows you to try different flavors.
Portobello fajita and chicken enchilada were good choices.

Great Mexican restaurant in Kirkwood!
While my party was interested in another close by restaurant, we changed it up and went here. Food was fantastic. The only thing I would change is getting rid of the paper straws for the drinks. I get why they’re used but it does ruin the flavor of a good drink. Still won’t steer me away from here! Will be back soon!!

Loved this place. I stopped in after a meeting for lunch and was surprised by how tasty it was. A cute little restaurant down a side street in Kirkwood. It was quite busy for lunch and the service was great. I had steak strip tacos which were so tender and seasoned well. Will be back for their dinner.

“Crab cakes” were hush puppies. No crab. Almost no flavor in anything we ate. The cheese sauce was like cheddar soup, mostly tasted of milk, not queso I’ve had anywhere else in stl. And that is not a complement.

The menu has all the standard Mexican dishes and the food is tasty, and I like the ambiance. Pretty fiesta-ish. The service is solid, and prices are right in line. The back patio is great in the Spring and Fall! It’s also ideally located for strolling the many cool shops in Kirkwood. And loads of parking across the street.

The wife and I stopped in at Amigos for an early dinner simply because of the margarita flights! We always like to try something new and someone else suggested the margarita flights and we were NOT disappointed. Margarita flavors Ive never had were amazing!

We ordered and shared one plate of food because neither were very hungry. We shared the Amigos Taco Puffs. We had one beef and one chicken. The taco puff shell is similar to that of a fried taco salad bowl, but in taco shape. The shells are great! Then chicken and taco puffs were Served with black beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream! The chicken was amazing! The beef…. not so much. The beef was dried out like it had been microwaved and was tough.

No condiments, salt/pepper, etc are in the tables and you have to ask for it.

The atmosphere was top notch! Table, booth, and outdoor seating are available.

Parking is easy right in front, or there is a free parking lot right across the street.

I give Amigos 8.75 out of 10 overall.

What could be better:
-Waitress could come around a little more often to check on people.

-Seasonings and condiments being available on the table would be nice so you dont have to wait for a waitress or go find one.

-I suggest finding an alternative way of heating the beef so that it doesnt dry out.

Food is trash. All the other reviews were probably from people who are used to bland food or unauthentic Mexican food. Queso tastes like it comes from a can. Salsa tastes like it can from can and they only seasoned it with chili powder. Drinks are good but overpriced for the size. My boyfriend ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was sweet! But why!? No cheese in quesadilla either. I’ll never return to this restaurant. There are MUCH better Mexican restaurants in St. Louis
