On a recent trip to the Cape, we stopped for a late breakfast at Amie and it was SO delightful! We had espresso, oat milk vanilla lattes, ham and cheese quiche, and their McAmie breakfast sandwich on house made biscuit – everything was so so delicious. We sat inside, the staff was very kind and friendly, and we saw the owner while there, mingling with guests and the like. Such a lovely space! We also picked up their chocolate chip cookie dough which we baked last night and WOW, so good! A must try. We will be back for sure!

Great food, the Reuben is fabulous! I just wish their hours were a lot better, even if they extend to 4pm in the summer. Closing 1pm on a Sunday? That’s early imo. Other than that, the pastries are great, and the soups when they have it (they don’t have in the summer which is odd).

So glad to have discovered this hidden gem on the Cape this week after a colleague told me about it! I have lived in 3 different countries and have traveled to over 20 countries across Europe and the world. And I have a very bad sweet tooth, so you can imagine I made bakeries a priority in all my travels! Having said that, I can say with confidence that AMIE Bakery is one of the best I’ve ever tried!

I live decently close to Amies Bakery which leads to my time to time visits, but over the last year I have noticed that both the service and the items/stock of items have been deteriorating over time. On my most recent visit I came decently early in the morning and there was basically nothing in stock that I used to see earlier which happened multiple times. The other thing that I noticed changed in the service, was the packaging of the orders. When I ordered a few pastries they all came in a bag with no napkins and all of the pastries basically squished together, this was especially bad because I had ordered the Barnstable bun and it was too squished in the bag and all of the whipped cream on it was on every other pastry. In general I think amies bakery needs to see to stuff like I listed because I can recall it being so much better earlier in the year.

I recently ordered some orange cardamom cookies from Amie Bakery. They were ready and waiting on time when I went in to pick them up and were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to return to try some of the other wonderful looking baked goods.

My already dreadful morning, was met with an acquaintance with AMIES BAKERY. I ordered a hot chocolate, and a Barnstable bun. The Barnstable bun resembles a run over squirrel which was thrown around the room. AND It tasted god awful. The hot chocolate was thick and chunky. It tasted like chocolate chips dunked in Luke warm water. Lastly, I was given the hot chocolate in a Poland springs water bottle. YES A POLAND SPRINGS WATER BOTTLE. I cannot express my anger as I paid a lot of money for my breakfast.

Yummy almond milk latte for me and flat white for my man. Super friendly service and the pastries are to die for! We had the almond chocolate croissant and, from the reactions of other patrons, it seemed like you can’t go wrong. What a nice addition to the outskirts of Osterville. We biked there, and they have ample parking + bike racks. Definitely a great cafe to return to next time we’re in town. Would recommend!
