The service was top tier. The person working the register was very pleasant. I didnt get her name but she around 5pm. The food was really good. I got the lemon pepper, fries, cabbage, and yams. Everything was flavorful and fresh to order. There are a variety of sauces and dry seasoning for your wings. I will be heading back to try the shrimp and next the ribs. They had an option for turkey bht they were out when I came. They also have a few seasons to put on your order which is available on the side of the counter. The place smells good when you walk in. It is inside of a liquor shop. Very tiny space but its obviously not meant for dine in purposes. I can see them getting packed for lunch but the time I went, it was not crowded just a steady flow of customers.

Its in the bavk of a LIQUOR STORE. That you had to go up a flight of stairs to get to, so if you’re in a wheelchair, good luck. Their website does not disclose this. It wouldn’t be an issue, but the clientle of said liquor are mainly college students. Most of which were clearly underaged females (underaged as in 18-20 yr olds. Almost 150 people were served in the 30 min we were there and not one time did i see the gentleman card any of those babies. Which is illegal. Thats not ok. And its next to a stanking dispensary. Took too long, food was just ok. But they should let you know upfront what it is as nothing on their site or google mentioned it being where it is. Nonplace to sit. You have to wait outside ona balcony for food, as its to crowded due to the liquor store. Their seasonings and sauces dont match up with the descriptions on the menu. Just…no…don’t come here. And if your child goes to Howard University or Georgetown just know they have access to cheap liquor in this lawless establishment

THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB.COM!!! Ask for LEO when you get there, he is so friendly and accommodating!! The Mac and cheese and yams are soooooooooooo amazing, well seasoned and served hot! We also tried the ribs and wings, THEY DID NOT DISSAPOINT! Highly recommend, they’re on Georgia avenue across from the apartments up the stairs

Leo needs a raise!! I initially walked in and was going right back out because it was not what I expected. Two things happened, A customer that was leaving said you need to check it out because the food is fresh and the selection is good. The next thing was Leo, Leo is the ultimate salesman, we should hope he never gets into car sales! Anywho, he was not letting us leave without sampling the wares. Okay, maybe three things happened! The ribs were excellent, flavorful and tender. We came there for chicken and left with rib meals, go figure! This is a perfect example of NOT judging a book by it’s cover. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Mad heavy on the sauce definitely didn’t get y extra shrimp and forgot to get the drink for the DoorDash delivery guy. Employees should check the order twice before sending it off. Now it’s no telling how long it’s gonna take to try to get my money back.

This place is the best!!! Ask for LEO when you arrive, he is so kind, friendly and helpful! We tried the regular wings, bbq wings, yams and Mac and cheese, they are THE BOMBBBB!! Highly recommend, they’re located on Georgia avenue across from the campus and apartments, up the stairs! Give it a try!!!

Everything down to the food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. I’d give the greens a solid 8/10 they were very flavorful. The macaroni and cheese was arguably the best I’ve ever had I give it a strong 9/10 The yams were very flavorful as well and cooked very well I’d give them an 7/10. The rice was also stellar too, I’d give it a solid 8. If recommended this place to anyone who’s looking for some honest soul food at an affordable price, and is ready to be serviced with great food and a smile. I will be coming back here OFTEN

The food was incredible! Lio was at the cash register, and he was so welcoming and wonderful. I came to visit from Florida, and I’ve already told all my friends in D.C. that they have to try it. It’s like an early Thanksgiving feast! The sweet potatoes were amazing—even though I don’t usually like them! Amazing !!

the worker was so kind, he offered me a free sample of the mac n cheese and sweet potatoes. at first, i was skeptical of food from a liquor store, but it is genuinely delicious! some of the best soul food i have had from somewhere.
