Social Profile:

We opened in May 2011 in the historic Chamberlain Building which has housed auto dealerships going back to the early 1900s. We have a large photo mural when you walk in the door. The photo is from 1937 and shows pictures of the car showroom floor. This is where our main dining and cocktail lounge is today with much of the original facade. The street we are on is Locust Street which was referred to as auto row. This street used to house all of the car dealerships in town. We have a two-level dining room with views of the Pappajohn Sculpture Garden located in downtown Des Moines. We are all about good food without the attitude. We have a great modern dining atmosphere, great views but bring a midwest nice vibe.

Casual place with modern decor serving steaks & chops, plus Asian-inspired sharing plates.

We stopped for lunch at 2pm on a Friday and had the whole place practically to ourselves! We’ve always loved the view of the sculpture gardens outside the front windows. The location is really fantastic.

Came here tonight for our anniversary dinner. Arrived early but didn’t hesitate from sitting us which was nice. The old fashioned was good, but a good delay on hubs soda. Ordered the crab Rangoon dip for an appetizer never got it but it wasn’t our bill so can’t complain other than not trying it. The salmon was dry and honestly tasted like it just came from the microwave. The maple glazed carrots was less than impressive some carrots were hard while some soft. Not expecting that quality with the price. We went around 6 and it wasn’t very busy but everything seemed rushed. Wanted to really like this place

Excellent Brunch. The bottomless Mimosa/Bloody Marys are a step above since they have an accoutrement table for both! The food is really tasty as well. The chicken strip are homemade and they have a grilled cheese bar!?! Finishing the meal was also top shelf. Fruit was fresh and the custards were smooth and full flavored. 100% recommend!!

Went with 7 friends and an infant for blowout brunch, on a Saturday reservations at 1130am. We were seated immediately! Variety & flavor of food was outstanding! Our service was satisfactory but not excellent. The atmosphere was loud and not suitable for anyone with ANY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS! Most of the seating eas upstairs and ALL if the food & drink bars were downstairs. They added an 18% gratuity even though we only had 7 eating, paying customers. I loved the mashed potato bar & grilled cheese station. There was a huge selection of other breakfast foods except for hot cereals like grits or Oatmeal, which would have been nice. Would have also enjoyed some fish or seafood and prepared salads like potato or pasta salad. There were many gluten free options and if you were careful you could probably stay Keto eating here as well. The mimosas & screwdriver/bloody Mary was well stocked with options for savory garnishes but flavorings were just bottled syrups.

Highly recommend this restaurant in downtown Des Moines! Spacious, casual atmosphere and the food is excellent. I got the petite filet medallions with garlic butter and whipped potatoes and it was perfect. As my server, Haley, was clearing my empty dishes, she accidentally bumped my wine glass, which only had a drop left, and she gave me another full pour! Service, atmosphere, and food are all five stars. Stop here if you’re in downtown Des Moines.

Their Saturday Brunch was wonderful. Plenty of good food and bottomless Mimosa’s, Bloody Mary’s,& or screwdrivers. My only complaint is that after we had been sitting there enjoying our food and drinks, the server came over & told us that another party had a reservation in 20 minutes. Ok, so what. I mean, we paid for bottomless drinks, and there were other tables of folks that were there just as long, & they weren’t told this, and there were plenty of open tables to sit at in the establishment.
