American Waffle House in Massapequa is a nice place for breakfast brunch or lunch . Their hours change so do check. Waffles with malt are tasty light and delicious. Owner and staff are kind. They have a variety on menu to choose from and they do have natural maple syrup as well. ( not a chain) check them out.

Never had been here before but was very happy we decided to try it. The place is set like a 50’s diner. We had the chicken and waffles and the Monte Cristo. Both were delicious. We happened to be in a rush so I let my server Cindy know. She was fantastic. Our food came out very quickly and was still made perfectly. Cindy was extremely nice and attentive. Highly recommended.

One thing to note is that parking is located in the back, and there’s an entrance right around the back as well, so don’t miss it when you’re driving.
Its a tough decision for me between the pancakes, french and waffle. They’re all great. You can tell they’re freshly made and not your typical diner-style food.

Lovely, basic, hearty, just what you expect from a local, long established eatery.
Service was on point, prices were reasonable, portions were sizeable. The slab of ham was bigger than ive gotten in other restaurants serving the same.
Grits? They have them! Not a long island staple to be sure, but they do it well, and have small and large sizes. A breakfast standard that hits home.

Loved the setting, old fashion diner set up. The pancakes were great, so was the Blt. I had a little of the steak, I really liked the cook on it; well done but not dry. The flavor was great but salt and pepper was needed. The service was slow although the place was empty. Our waitress was super sweet tho. Not sure I would go back, a little overpriced for the food and service($65) but I definitely do not regret visiting.

This was a blast from the past, a small but cozy little place that’s oozing with personality and character.
The service was genuine and fast, I felt very much so taken care of the entire time we were there. The food felt old worldly, if that makes sense! Like the kind of food your grandma makes that you have fond memories of.

We went for breakfast and we all enjoyed our meals. My 9 year old had kids waffle and omelet, husband had avocado toast with eggs and I had eggs Benedict. The coffee was freshly brewed, the servers were attentive and fast. Ww will be returning again

Every bad review is so wrong about this place. Amazing hospitality, food is so fresh and delicious, and trust me I’ve given my share of bad reviews. Every food place is expensive nowadays, find me a restaurant that’s not. They need to pay their employees so they can eat too, what do you expect. I avoided this place after moving here because of bad reviews and am kicking myself in the ass. The farmers omlette is insane and the home fries are sooooo good. I came on election day, and only came because this has a very American diner feel and it felt like the right place to be after my vote, and I was soooo right!
