What an absolute hidden gem! The steamed cheeseburger was the phenomenal, easily one of the best burgers I have ever had.

The place is such a vibe as well. This place is a must try. Love that it’s a family business too!

The vast amount of soda selections had me in awe, was so hard to make a choice with so many great choices! Can’t wait to be back! Tom (owner) and his son were super nice and welcoming!

One of the few places to get a proper steamed cheeseburger. But they are so much more than that. Arguably one of the best hot dogs (they are JUMBO, a meal in their own and delicious)and steak and cheese , super thinly sliced, no grizzle and full of beefy flavor with a generous portion. Lots of choices of toppings while being reasonably priced. Family owned by some of the nicest people you can ever meet. Also they carry a wide variety of unique sodas that I don’t know anywhere else to find. The only criticism I can give is that the tuna, potato salads… Could use a bit more mayo. I bring them home and add a little and they are perfect

I was exploring town and had this place on my list to try since reading good reviews. I’ve never heard of steamed burgers so I was excited. Apparently, steamed burgers were invented in Connecticut! The place was a little hole in the wall with a couple of tables. It reminded me of someone’s living room and the person who helped us was friendly; it felt like a friend cooking us lunch in his kitchen. I got almost like a dive bar vibe even though it’s not a bar. The service was great, quick and cordial.

I had a coupon on Yelp for 10% off for checking in; he said he didn’t know about it but honored it. I had the single steamed cheeseburger on a poppy seed roll; with lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and pickles. The burger was actually really good and moist. I think the cheese made it a little bit too salty but all in all, it’s not bad. I housed the whole burger and was super full. I also had the tuna macaroni salad as a side which was delicious also. They had Foxon Park soda; I had the root beer. My son had chips and a hot dog and my husband had the double burger; they seemed to enjoy their meals. Overall, a good place to try out some steamed burgers.

Found this hidden gem after seeing a show at Oakdale. It was late, and we were hungry. The food was fantastic, the staff were lovely and conversational, even at a late hour, and the soda selection is fantastic. Even if you’re not a soda drinker, I think they might have every type /brand of soda imaginable. We will definitely be back.

Small cozy restaurant with very personal and excellent service. The burgers are great and an extensive variety of sodas.
Tried the cheddar bacon burger and a gluten free (bun less) cheddar bacon burger.
Been there twice and would keep going back.
Juicy and tasty burger as it’s steamed and melted cheese on top. Bacon pieces are crispy in every bite.

Only the second place I’ve been to with steamed cheeseburgers, after the legendary Ted’s in Meriden. This may come across as heresy, but I found the actual patty more flavorful here! The double with bacon was a lot of food! The owner is a collector so the place is decorated with memorabilia and he even stocks every brand and variety of soda. His mom was behind the counter when I visited and I loved talking with her. I’ll be back next time I’m in central CT!

Great food, and super nice people, they are very accommodating as they made me a triple cheeseburger! They even have a wide variety of soda drinks from all over the world. Highly recommend this place all around great spot. they are the perfect place for a midnight meal as they close at 1am.
