The meal was absolutely delicious and cooked to the perfect temperature. The corn, in particular, was a standout — so fresh and full of flavor, it truly felt like it came straight from the farm. This experience was unique compared to any other restaurant I’ve tried before. I highly recommend everyone to stop by if you’re in the area.

Was traveling through Birmingham and found this place on Google. When you pull up you wouldn’t believe the type of food that you’re going to be served but I give the Greens Chicken, Lord that sweet tea and cornbread was something to turn the car around about. I will sure be back to visit again when in Birmingham. May I add the customer service was top tier

I wasn’t going to leave a review, and let it go, but after seeing this measly sandwich that I overpaid for, I had to say something. Today will be my last trip to American Ranch House. I ordered a BLT, black eyed peas, and mac & cheese. My total came to $15.37. The serving sizes are mediocre, on top of the containers not even being filled all the way. I open my BLT up, and find it’s made with a single slice of bacon broken up onto sandwich. Th black eyed peas are seasoned with something (no clue what the flavor even is), that I would never put in anything that a human being was going to consume, and the mac & cheese tastes like it has an entire shaker full of salt mixed in with it. This over $15 meal isn’t enough to feed my 10 year old, much less me, a grown man. Also, while standing in the lobby waiting on my food, and a few others getting theirs before I got mine, I find out that my BLT was forgotten about, and the cooks were asked to make one. Ranch House, do better.

Its an old Hardee’s building I think. EASY to miss it. Ive only had sandwiches but the steam table seems popular, and looked fine.
Service was WAY better than the average fast food place is now. Mainly sweet ladies making sure you get what you ask for. Cheeseburger especially is a good choice. Hand pattied meat, good toppings. A combo is $9 currently- so a better value and a better product than main chains.
There is some connection between the Ranch House locations, Makarios and Boston Fish. Maybe someone knows and will reply?

One of mine and my coworkers favorite places to stop in and grab a quick bite of lunch. Not sure what kind of Buffalo sauce they use or if they make their own but it is the best!! The service is a little slow and they have forgotten our Buffalo sauce in the drive thru a couple times (but don’t worry it’s worth stopping to go back inside to get). It’s reasonably priced especially with inflation a good portion sizes. It does get really crowded so you have to be smart with your timing – but it’s a must stop!

I come in for a vegetable plate. Surely. However, you can’t expect granny cooking at a restaurant the cabbage and green beans were good. However, the Mac and cheese could’ve been better I could’ve made my own I know but I didn’t so this is what I got. Let’s talk about this pudding. Which was exactly what it was. Pudding mixed with only wafers. And for four dollars I could’ve went to Publix and got a better version. Really people with restaurants like this should ask the person to bring in samples. But I innerstand the importance of keeping a business up nd hiring someone to keep flow of things. I just hope that no one buys this banana pudding bc you will be disappointed. I certainly was. I really wanted to turn around and get my money back.

This is the real deal. I came to visit Alabama to try some of their famous southern style. Most places were ok but this one was above it. Restaurants can trick the tourists with their location but this place does not. It is located in a non touristy area and it has a continuous non stop flow of customers. People come because it is good.

American Ranch House was pretty Awesome. 1st let’s start with the Customer Service. Mr. Cornelius was amazingly attentive. We stopped by during a brief visit to Birmingham. I was assured we could dine in. While looking for a place to sit the owner took notice and came out to clean a table personally. It was not dirty but, I think he sensed we wanted the table wiped. So Mr. Cornelius himself came and cleaned the table a had some small talk. The food was quite delicious ! We ordered Philly Cheese steak & fries, Ribs Collard Greens & mashed potatoes with gravy as well as Baked Chicken, blackeyed Peas and Greenbeens. It was all delicious. We will try to stop again the next time we ate in Birmingham. The dining room had clear signs of closed tables for social distancing. They had T.V.’s in each direction so we could catch the game. So there you have it stop by and grab a plate you won’t be disappointed. Also the dinners were will priced. I must also mention they were not stingy with the servings. They didn’t just put one scoop like most places do. They filled the container. It was more than enough.
