They are consistently fast. Consistently good. If they have a line they will send someone out with a tablet to take your order and expedite getting the line out. The staff is courteous whether you go on the inside and can’t make up your mind like a fat, hungry person at a resturant, or you go through the drive through. I always order a garden salad , add an egg and jalapenos and no dressing. They even started remembering my order when they see me. They stay open pretty late also!

This is the real deal. I came to visit Alabama to try some of their famous southern style. Most places were ok but this one was above it. Restaurants can trick the tourists with their location but this place does not. It is located in a non touristy area and it has a continuous non stop flow of customers. People come because it is good.

The food was great! Soul food at its best! I have one thing as a request, Bigger cups for the peach cobbler! Lol overall, good experience. I gave three stars for the atmosphere due to the restaurant not being handicap accessible, I struggle to enter and exit the restaurant.

Wanted to order from hot plate, the young lady said they aren’t making food from there. It’s 10 clock. I ordered a 4 piece lemon pepper and a 6 piece and the chicken tasted like they were cooked then re dropped again. I also ordered a baked potato with extra bacon but instead of extra bacon I got extra extra cheese. Only order that was good was the chicken tender combo. Usually I have a great experience and food be good but not today

So, today was my bday and all I wanted was some fried chicken livers – random, I know, but I’ve been craving them for a few weeks now. I used to get my fried livers from Popeyes but they no longer carry them. I was told about the American Ranch House – whew!!! Those were some of the best friend chicken livers I’ve had since I left Mississippi. So crispy but not dried out. Full of flavor. I will 100 percent be coming back! A+++++

American Ranch House was pretty Awesome. 1st let’s start with the Customer Service. Mr. Cornelius was amazingly attentive. We stopped by during a brief visit to Birmingham. I was assured we could dine in. While looking for a place to sit the owner took notice and came out to clean a table personally. It was not dirty but, I think he sensed we wanted the table wiped. So Mr. Cornelius himself came and cleaned the table a had some small talk. The food was quite delicious ! We ordered Philly Cheese steak & fries, Ribs Collard Greens & mashed potatoes with gravy as well as Baked Chicken, blackeyed Peas and Greenbeens. It was all delicious. We will try to stop again the next time we ate in Birmingham. The dining room had clear signs of closed tables for social distancing. They had T.V.’s in each direction so we could catch the game. So there you have it stop by and grab a plate you won’t be disappointed. Also the dinners were will priced. I must also mention they were not stingy with the servings. They didn’t just put one scoop like most places do. They filled the container. It was more than enough.

Nothing wrong with the food, it’s pretty good. Place is clean and portions are plentiful. Prices are not competitive with other southern food joints in the area. Service isn’t great which is very typical and common among the group that they employ. Better customer service and reasonable prices would bump this place up to 5 stars.
