This was the only restaurant open on Christmas Eve in Floyd; we were nervous after reading the reviews recently but we were pleasantly surprised! The service was quick and excellent, he didn’t show up too often but checked on us and refilled drinks with perfect timing. The food is classic diner food and it tastes great; chicken salad sandwich, Rueben and 2 bacon cheeseburgers. The coleslaw was so good, perfectly seasoned with celery seed! Fries are crinkle cut and fat, cooked until golden. The Diet Coke was extra crispy! We’re not from the area but we’d be back anytime we’re passing through.

You’re looking at the photos – and the great food photos don’t match the exterior or interior decor. Believe your stomach – the food is as good as it looks.

If you visit Floyd often – for the music, the laid back atmosphere, the proximity to Virginia Tech football – then this unassuming diner needs to be on your list.

It’s open! The food is great. They know about specialty diets – the ribs are gluten free (“gf”), and the menu is great. One side is the diner in a sprawling, open, legacy decor, with hints of the restaurants growth. The other side is the pool hall.

Long list of beers. Coworkers had wine. Reuben sandwich looked amazing. Four of us were staying at the Floyd Hotel, it was a 10 minute drive and well worth it. We will definitely be back.

We came across this restaurant by chance. We had spent the day on the BRP. So glad we stopped in. Wife had Corn beef Ruben, loved it. I had the bacon burger with onion rings, loved it.
Service was great and friendly. Beer ice cold with a ice cold frosty mug. We are 2 hours away but will go back soon to try the ribs… and other stuff.

Oh my goodness, for me, this was a hidden gem only 30 minutes from my home. The food was hot, homemade, and scrumptious! The service was amazing, and they served cocktails. Win-win!

Great place to stop for classic American food. I ordered the patty melt, it was delicious and came with a side of tasty crinkle cut french fries. The waitress was courteous and attentive. I like the decor. There is also a bar room with a couple of pool tables.

We stopped in for a late lunch, the food came out quickly. The service was terrific, and the sandwiches were tasty. Unfortunately, we both got the turkey Reuben which I highly recommend but that’s all I can share here. The tater tots were nice and light and crispy

This place was great! The server was great given the post covid lapse of help everyone is experiencing. We got there right at 11 and boy did the rush hit! The patty melt and Reuben were both really good. They use local beef from Turner Farms in Floyd which is something you can’t find in most restaurants, even in the area. We will be returning very soon!

very tasty chicken sandwich with fries. Very neat place and big space on my way from a walkthrough from Oaks Country club (Fresh and Clean LLC) first time eating here.

I can’t even believe I had this experience! Traveling through Floyd with a friend, we noticed the restaurant and decided to try it. When ready to order my friend mentioned her food allergy (anaphylactic, we aren’t talking about upset stomach here), the waiter seemed very confused and there probably was a slight language barrier as well. I tried to explain that she has a medical emergency if she has exposure to this food. She asked if there was someone else we could talk to. He seemed more and more confused and eventually said “I don’t know we can try “. I told my friend not to worry about this we can just go somewhere else. Before we even got up from the table the waiter started removing the menus and said “Yeah, I think you came to the wrong place”
