The staff were friendly and excited that it was my first time there. They helped me choose the classic Philly steak and cheese and it did not disappoint. It was cheesy and flavorful with peppers and onions and I added mushrooms. The bread was fresh and did not overwhelm the sandwich like some places.
I added the lettuce and tomato but will not do that next time as the meat and cheese are tasty enough.
I will be coming back here the next time I am in the area. Best Philly in the whole area! Especially for the price.

Had a line when I walked in but that didn’t bother me at all.. it moved quickly.. young lady was taking 5 orders at a time and didn’t skip a beat. Sandwich was cooked quickly then you get to add your choice of toppings and pay.. I had the Philly which was fresh and hot.. Great place serving up great breakfast sandwiches and subs

I ordered a small antipasto. salad. It was literally lettuce with lunch meat on it. I threw it in the trash.It was so nasty.
I also ordered two subs not worth the money. This was my first time getting food from this location and it will be my last. I do not recommend this place. You don’t get your money’s worth.

5 star all the way. If u have not been here you need to go! We’ll worth the driver and the wait. We drive 30 min here just to eat and always great! Subs are amazing ans well as the cakes. Highly recommend!

WHERE ARE YOU AT TODAY? If it’s not at American hero subs and bagels then you’re missing out!!! I have been looking for a homegrown sub shop since I moved to Florence in 2020. I happened to be in loris today for work and could not be happier! The people were great but let’s be honest I was there for the FOOODDD! Such a great philly Cheesesteak. The purest may judge me but get that boy sauced up with yellow mustard and mayo! I’m also a big guy and the regular size will fill you up! The giant size is only meant for hercules himself. You order a giant and you can feed yourself and loved on!

I have previously given the highest marks for the Philly cheese steak subs at American Hero. I have even recommended them to others. Today I had an eye doctor’s appointment in Loris. My Mom and I called in an order to American Hero. We both ordered a giant because we can make 2 meals from one and they are usually so good. We were terribly disappointed! The sub rolls looked as if the bread was underproofed and undercooked. The beef had a burnt flavor. My mom commented that she thought it was too much black pepper. I think the meat was over cooked and had a charred taste. I was terribly disappointed and upset especially since the cost of a giant sub has gone up to $17.00.
