Best place to get a steak in Grove that I know of. The hamburgers are huge and unique. French fries are fresh home style. Staff and owners have always been first class. When people from out of town visiting the lake ask about a good place to eat, this is my first suggestion. Present location is their third and each has been up-scaled from the previous. The first location was my favorite because you could sit at the bar and smell and watch the food being prepared. I’ve followed them around since 2011.

WARNING! Do not eat here. The best thing I can say about this place is the Minute Maid Lemonade was good. The place seemed kind of clean. Now for the rating of the food. I had the grilled chicken breast, not too bad flavor wise, but it was about the size of the palm of my hand and maybe half an inch thick in the thickest part. My fries looked nasty, but I tried them anyways. Not awful, but I’ve had better at a fast food place. The other meal was even worse. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant, the gravy was just basically flour and water, no flavor at all. The chicken fried steak tasted like fish, not steak. The best part of that meal was the Texas toast. At least that had a flavor like I expected. Now for the service. When we came in we had to wait almost 5 minutes for someone to notice us. And this was at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Not many people there. My husband finally had to seat himself since he’s disabled and can’t stand for too long. The server came by and got our drink orders and was back in a reasonable time to take our food order. After that she didn’t speak to us again until she brought our food, almost 30 minutes later. After that she was very attentive to everyone else who seemed to be regulars. She did pass by when we were almost done and asked how the food tasted. We had to ask for the bill then wait almost 10 minutes to pay. We would have been better off going to McDonald’s or getting a TV dinner and eating at home.

Visited the American Grill this afternoon for lunch and was very impressed with the service AND quality and quantity of food. First we ordered appetizers (jalapenos bacon wrap, fried pickles, and Texas torpedos) that were awesome. Our group ordered several different items from the menu and everything was terrific. I will recommend this establishment to everyone that visits the Grove Oklahoma area.

Wow, this place was amazing. Breakfast buffet had a ton of choices in breakfast items, fresh fruit and a desert bar. Omelette station was fast and ingredients fresh and made to order in under 5 minutes. Coffee hot and my mug was never empty. Service friendly, polite and prompt. Don’t miss this place.

I had the sloppy steak Taco and the bacon wrapped Jalapeno, and ordered fried pickles for the table. My Taco was delivered nice and hot and was very tasty. The Jalapeno were good, but the bacon and the peppers seemed a bit soggy to me. If they could figure out a way to crisp them up it would be a much better dish. Still they were a hit and I had to fight off a few family members who tried to poach some.
The fried pickles were great, nice thin, hot, crispy chips served with a sauce that complimented them perfectly. The rest of the table ordered a burger, and a smothered chicken breast both of which seemed to be perfect based on how fast they were gobbled down. My wife and daughter shared the Balsamic Chicken pasta and of course even with 2 of them, I had to finish it. Normally i don’t order pasta out, because somehow restaurants always find a way to ruin it. This pasta was great, cooked to a perfect al dente, not crunchy, not squishy…just right. The sauce was light and flavorful and the chicken was tender and juicy. There were a total of 6 of us and we ate for under $100 including 6 glasses of micro-brewed beer.
The food would have been great even if it cost 20% more.

I order the New York Strip steak . I have been to alot of steak houses and I will have to say this is one of the best I have ever eaten..Very impressed will be back..KUDOS to the chef!!! Staff was very friendly glass of tea was always filled..GOOD JOB!!!
